One of my plants is popping seeds in the buds, I have not seen any nanners or pollen sacks of any kind and there are no males in the tent. It seems to be only effecting one plant which is also the biggest and strongest plant. It's not just one or two, I've found a bunch. What else can cause this to happen, can just genetics do it?

What makes you say it is making seeds? I see swollen calyxes but I don't see them splitting open with seeds. Unless my old one eye is missing something.

The seeds will be immature if it’s hermed late in flowering. Any that aren’t I wouldn’t use as they will carry the hermie trait.

You might not get loads of seeds depending on when/how much it hermied

lol you can see it still good by the oil on your hands 🙂

They still have about 5 weeks so plenty of time to mature lol

lol I musta been stoned last night
Now I look in the daylight I see It’s got a bit to go.

Oh man I originally thought it had hermed late near harvest time as that’s not unusual

5 weeks yeah they will be solid brown seeds that sucks

Still the bud looks sticky & nice

I had one seed show itself on my last photoperiod grow. I did not see any nanners but then when i look at the above photo of a split open bud and those nanners deep inside well shit i never thought to dig deep like that? But like i said, only found 1 seed in the whole plant.

Unfortunately, I can see at least a dozen seeds already and it's not going to get better. I'm not gonna start tearing into the buds, it is what it is at this point. Just wish I knew what caused it.

If there are seeds, there has to be pollen. If there are no males in the vicinity, there are herms somewhere. Cannabis carries an intersex trait. Some genetics are more likely to express it. Sometimes, you'll find nanners or sacs in the lower growth that doesn't get as much attention. As for cause, it could be as simple as genetics, but it's often genetics plus stress, whether that's light, environment, nutes, or watering.

Plants that are stressed out will easily go to seed, anthers and filament are close together for this reason and its on purpose, it can happen sometimes within the bud (not seen) and you have to go looking for anthers, it is in her nature to seed if she feels threatened. This happens a lot with F1's, especially outdoors, with drought/hot seasons... Ive seen it at field scale many times. The weed will be less potent if she goes full seed, still smokable in a pinch? but...... buy good seed, bag seeds can also be questionable? A lot of breeder shops pumpin out F1's....for the cash!
In the Old days all of our weed came with seeds most of it Mexican Columbian Sativa's....(2 oz of seeds in every pound- I paid 300/lb.) 1979

It's mimosa evo from Barney's farms

Bugs getting inside a cola can cause a localized herm reaction. I believe this to be the source of the elusive and singular "Jesus Seed" you might find on a plant.
