My friend.. has an issue with one of the plants. This one is next to others. They are all roughly the same size. This one may have got over water maybe 3 weeks ago. It may have been over fertilised a month ago. Itโ€™s in sand. We have had temperatures up to 50 in the last month. Most days are 30-40.
For some reason this one has burnt edges. The are spiraling up at the ends. And itโ€™s hard to find a leaf that hasnโ€™t been affected. Maybe the most fresh leaf isnโ€™t but I can find some that have like a burnt tinge to the ends. The ph it at 7 and so is all the other ones they donโ€™t seem to have this issue.. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ

Wonder whatโ€™s up with that mottling? Hope it doesnโ€™t wipe off! Thatโ€™s quite a grow! And growing in sand is a new one on me! You may have started something here! Look pretty good!

can you help me understand mottling a bit more?

Does anyone have an opinion on taking 50% of the fan leaves off now.. since everything has damage, would it be helpful to remove some bad to let some new growth come through opposed from leaving it and hoping the damaged leaves are taking in photosynthesis?
Since itโ€™s 2-3 weeks into flower I donโ€™t want to stress it out anymore but I donโ€™t want to leave it if itโ€™s just strugglingโ€ฆ.

The light colored blotches on the leaves! The white spots! Could be water spots. Maybe the sunlight coming through the covering playing tricks on me.

I also thought the same when looking at the photo. I just took a couple trying to stop the light shining through

Good! I was kind of surprised nobody else said anything about them! Thought maybe I was going to have to lay off the sauce! Interesting grow! I grow outdoors, where it is pretty warm also!

Cheers itโ€™s been interesting Iโ€™ll flick a pic of the other couple. Played around with all different techniques

The others no issue

Should I go ham on taking fan leaves off the healthy ones at this point ? Since I have already shade help maybe I could take off 40% of them now without to much stress โ€ฆ?
Also Iโ€™m still stuck in whether to take the leaves off the nuke burned one? Anybody????
Cheers

Well, by God, I am loaded enough to reply! Iโ€™ll let the plant do it thing All during veg! I think one of the most important functions of those Shade leaves-Yes, thatโ€™s what they used to be called-Is to protect the delicate bud sites that are forming during the Long hot days of intense sunlight during summer! Usually by the second week of flower around here the sun is a lot lower, The plant has stopped growing structurally, The bud sites are developing their own leaves for power and have matured enough to deal with the environment on their own! The days are shorter. Itโ€™s usually a lot cooler down into the 80s most of the time. So I think when you get to that point The plant decides it is through with them! Kind of like jettisoning the boosters on the space shuttle! L, O L! The evils of alcohol! That time of the year the humidity starts to rise and is no longer 10% every day! It may stay up in the 50 and60% range! So I figure if the plant tells me, thatโ€™s the shade leaves have become more of a Liability than an asset I will start pulling them off! You can tell in your gut when that time starts and then just go out and pull A few every day On top of the ones that the plant obviously says it doesnโ€™t want anymore. Yellow and yellowing. I want the leaves that are growing out of the bud sites and near the bud sites to get all of the weak sun they can. Opens up the airflow to deal with a higher humidity. Allows the plant to dry out faster if it gets wet , Lightens the load on branches, etc.! But I donโ€™t do it all at once! I gradually strip them off throughout the whole flowering process! Probably could pull them all off in October at one time. Gives me something to do every day when I walk out! Thatโ€™s just how I do it! Still learning! That diatribe is what you get for asking!๐Ÿ˜‚ itโ€™s mostly horse sense along with reading the plant! Reckon itโ€™s time to go to sleep this one off! Good luck! Also, Mine get thrown out into three months of 100+ degrees and deal with it on their own! No shade cloth or a greenhouse so your circumstances are quite a bit different!
