Can anyone tell me if it is normal for this to be hot to the touch just after a few hours of use?

You shouldn’t be able to fry an egg on it but it should have a hot surface decal somewhere on there.

No stickers or anything. It's a cheap $18 light from eBay. I am very impressed with how bright it is. It definitely blows my husky shop light out of the water lmao. And it has the spectrum of light that I need. They are finally happy

I nearly bought one of those , is it advertised as 2000w

Yeah I'm not sure about 2000w. Id believe it if it said 1000w. It is definitely worth it for being under $20. You cannot beat it. Id definitely buy more if it didn't get so hot. It is my first grow light so I have no clue how hot they run and what is normal.

i have a clip on fan running over mine to keep it cooler and that warm air helps keep the temp up in the tent but it looks like you are more open air

In generell when y buy a high watt led light from china wholesale it has mostly 1/10 of the labeled watt. 1000w would be 100w and 2000w around 200w.
There are some which almost hit the labeled power output they don't cost 20$.

If it's not possible to put your hand on it whether the light itself or driver then it's too hot.
Keep your eyes on china. Saw a couple burning 😔

After 3 hours It hasn't gotten to the point I can't put my hand on it but it's has a reasonable amount of heat. I plug it back in at midnight and will check it at again at noon.

It's an enclosed closet. The temp is cooler then the room it's in so I have to open the door in the morning because it gets pretty cold. I thought about getting a ceramic heater but I am kinda sketched out about having all of this running to a closet. I want minimal chance of fire.

my first light was a cheap blurple light off ebay, used it for one grow fine, put it away for couple of months and next time i plugged it in it started sparking.

we told you in the previous post:

this light is absolute garbage ...

no way 2000W light cost 18$ .... as already told seeing it's price it's prolly not much better than your previous husky light in term of power even if your under the impression it's brighter must be 20W-40W max ... (wich is low for flowering)

also cheap chinese electronic device do not always meet EU and US electrical norms and qualtiy requirements ... use at your own risk ...

if you want minimal risk of fire, i would avoid cheap chinese light from shadowy brands ...

facts ... i hate to be the bad omen guy but just facts ...

i found a 18$ 2000W led on ali express, it pull 20W from the wall ... wich is the same as his previous husky light ...

as someone suggested in the previous post, a bunch of regular everyday 10W 3000k and/or 5000k led bulbs would have been better and cheaper than this light ...

ive just found a NEW one on ebay for £8 EIGHT POUNDS , it does say this light is ok for the veg stage....
the good news is that you can keep this for seedlings, the bad news is you will need a new light for £80-120

i chucked it and got a viparspectra 1500, like redneck said even that is only 220w , but it does the job
i use a small greehouse heater if i need to get the temps up , there quite safe.
Great choice!
I'm a lover of my xs1500 pro. Mine has just 150w.
Tbh it's 10 times better then all those China's.
It does the job*? It does it excellent, y will see in future, stunning buds in flower.

to be honest this is my first grow with it , where i havent fked things right up (on my last grow i shoved in a ts600 halfway through flower and everything went into shock) . and stopped.

What I can say is that the light is quiet intense, so better start of easy with it. How much % and which ppfd arrives at the canopy?
Sad to hear, I can say this won't happen with this light. You also can take both light when they fit in for flower.
Wanna check my current grow with the xs1500 pro?
