Is this a heat issue??

Hey all.

I've noticed my plant has started drooping heavily, which usually only happens if I let her dry out, but she is watered and feed.

Is this a heat issue (from the lights), I can't raise them any higher and she it getting close.

well from my 2 years experience of killing plants in every way possible i would take a guess at over watering, mine did that towards the end of veg...once they go into bud and start demanding more it shouldnt happen.
its better to let it get slighty dry than keep it wet so it doesnt dry out. it will spring back from too little water a lot quicker than one thats overwatered.

The leaf tips look like the light might be too intense.

Plants sometimes droop after watering. Is that what happened? If so, they should recover within a day.

22c, light is around 6in from top of the plant, 100w but dimmed to about 75ish

At the moment I am watering about every other day, by then the pot is light. Usually giving 4-5L per watering.

Plant is away into flower now.

Ok, that's quite possible as they were watered yesterday.

71.6f isn’t hot it’s on the low side

Yes it can take a while for a plant that’s been overwatered to stop dropping the plants roots are drowning & can’t breathe properly atm
growth will slow down till it dries out.
I don’t use heat mats however someone here might they might help am unsure
Personally I’d just let her dry up on her own

If were helpful it’s coz we love seeing another be able to grow there own.

4-5 litres seems alot to feed them? What size pots? I used 50 litre pots and never watered them that much until mid way through flower?

The pots are 20l.

Yeah I thought it might be a lot but the pots are drying out well between watering, it's well draining and 4-5l just seems to be the right amount to soak the soil enough (I rarely get runoff)

I'm going to leave her alone to dry out and I'll try less water next watering

That seems strange, they look like they never dry out? You don't need to soak the medium, just nice and moist. I definitely never had run off lol, I'd say most of the time I'd feed them 2litres one day leave them for 2 days water on the start of day 3, never had an issue.

I'm also from uk and i use an oil heater with a separate thermastat switch to keep temp up

Ok so little update after 3 days.

Plants are still looking sad, I've cut back watering and all temps etc are good.

She seems to have stopped growing upwards now, not sure if this is just max height or if that's a symptom also?

First off I'm not an expert by any means just sharing my recent experience. If you are watering at 20-25% of your pot size and not getting runoff you might have some drainage issues. I water between 5-10% of my pot size and get some runoff. You said your medium is well draining and rarely get runoff. Again giving that much water and having very little runoff doesn't sound well draining to me. Not trying to be harsh, just trying to help. What does your grow medium consist of?

If you think your watering is good then I would look at light intensity and DLI. I'm using new lights for my current grow and found that my plants would get droopy 3-4 hours before lights out. I thought I was overwatering so I adjusted that and still experiencing drooping. I would suggest using a light meter to see how much Par your plants are getting. I came across the PPFD Meter app (it's free) from a video on the Migro youtube channel. It has been a valuable tool for me, especially with newer and much better lights. I raised my light height and went from a 18/6 to 17/7 light cycle, that along with raising my lights ended the drooping. Give it a few days if you adjust your lights to see a change. Mine took a couple of days to adjust. If you aren't familiar with DLI I'd suggest doing some research about it. It's a simple concept and with the app you can measure it very easily. Search for PPFD Meter app and DLI it may help solve your issues.

It could be a combination of too much water/not draining and too much light or just one of those things or something else entirely. Either way take whatever you learn from this grow and apply that knowledge next time.
