I just found out about that Border 2 Fire in San Diego. If any of those embers go flying South, Tijuana is right there. Any fire that starts down there you’ll be able to see burning from Neptune. Those poor people are probably ready to have a heart attack.

Many of the seeds I pop surface with the shell still attached. I soak the seed for 24 hrs in tap water, then into the soil about 3/8” deep. Thanks

Yeah that happens sometimes.
I have only pulled the shell off a few times, and when that happened the seedling was healthy and inches above soil just shell stuck to the leaves. Every time I have had to pull the shell off the leaves I have never harmed it.
But even with that said, I would not try and pull the shell off the first day or two of the seed popping through the soil. Try to leave them as long as you can and let Mother nature take place. But sometimes you got to do what you got to do like I said in my circumstances.
