Looking for advice please guys

Hi guys iv uploaded my three auto flowers here second picture is a zoom in on the first plants leaves!!
Do these look healthy to you?
It's my very first grow!
I gave them a feed yesterday around 4pm as the top soil was looking a little dry I gave them
0.5 calmag
2mil grow max
And a small teaspoon of Epsom salts in a 1 litre tub shared between 3 plants then topped them up a tiny bit with some plain water.
I took them off their run off trays this morning too as the pots sit tight in them (too small) I was thinking maybe halting proper run off and causing oxygen problems.
I have a carbon filter fan when it's time for their sleep I turn everything off including this. Am I supposed to leave the fan on? The leaves are full of moisture in the morning don't know whether this is a bad or normal thing?
Any advice at this point is welcome. Thankyou

Yes you should keep everything on at night, when the light timer goes off you want about a 5-10% drop in temps, but not too cold either (nothing near the 50's, or even low 60's isn't advised, it can shock them). Keep your fan going inside also, it will stop the dew sitting on them. Not much of a problem when they're young seedlings, but you don't want water collecting on leaves later on, or it can bring mold, and then bugs. Also I thought Epson salts were better off using in the flowering stage. You might have thrown your soil out of whack with too much magnesium?

I would just stick with plain 2 day old water at 6.2-6.4 pH, and no additives or nutes, they shouldn't really need it right now. Keep your light on the lowest setting, usually 25%'ish to let them bounce back a little.

I see old roots in your soil, do you reuse your soil?

They seem to love what iv done they are thriving now!! Just hope they stay they way!
I also lit a cigarette and left it in the tent to give it some co2 i think they liked it. I put the fan on to get rid of the smell and My tent blew up like a balloon (obviously had the fan the wrong way round)
So after these adjustments I went back much later and the girls looked so much healthier!!

Admittedly, I've never heard of doing this, but I can't see how this is beneficial. If anything, the smoke is clogging up the stomata and introducing toxins as well. Theses ladies need basics first to start thriving before worrying about CO2.

If this is indeed coco, to me they look underfed, or deprived due to pH issues.

that contraption is a pest attractant at best. best of luck with that though. last time i checked CO2 only mattered in dialed in facilities with dialed in everything else -- ie. not most home growers. you're certainly not dialed in if you're using a Coca-Cola plastic bottle as your CO2 source.

Do you measure CO2 level changes based on this?

I always wondered how much difference it really makes.

One of the podcasts I recently listened to, don't remember which one, mentioned adding CO2 to an unsealed room could still increase results. Specifically, adding CO2 for the first hour, before lights heat up and exhaust fans turn on, or the last hour, improved results by 10-15%.

But generally yeah, CO2 needs to be at the right volume, location, and time (plants do nothing with CO2 when lights are off) for it to matter, and the limiting factor for most beginner growers is light, water or nutrients, and rarely CO2.

Every dwelling has its own air exchange rate known as ACH’s. Unless you seal off the room there’s not really an effective way to keep the gas at a level that will make a difference.

Best practices without a CO2 system:

Use a tent. Exhaust at the top, intake at the bottom. Have a perpetual party with a lot heavy breathers in attendance! NO CIGARETTES

I was just wasting my time.

It wasn’t till years later I got to fully understand co2 & how it works
You have to monitor it as high levels can be toxic & any mistakes you pay for as everything is speeded up.

You need to invest a high amount to get the right equipment so its not really for home growers or those just out to harvest there own without selling high amounts as it costs to much to make it worthwhile when just growing your own the outlay alone would take to long to break even let alone replacing the tanks ect

Alot of publications, including Cannabis Grower’s Handbook, discusses the importance and usefulness of CO2 supplementation generally. Reducing CO2 concentration from 350ppm to 250ppm decreases rate of photosythnesis and water use efficiency by 50%, and an increase to 750ppm increases it by 110%. Keeping in mind that ambient CO2 levels are around 350-400ppm. And raising it up to 1,500PPM increases growth considerably in most publications. Not counting that increased CO2 levels allow plants to tolerate warmer temperatures, by about 10 degrees F. There are alot of products, like Exhale CO2 Bags and TNB Naturals that purport to take ppm levels up to 1,200 or 1,500 for short periods of time in small enclosures.

Of course, the question is whether CO2 is the limiting factor for most growers, which I assume it is not. Lights, nutrients, water, and temperature improvement alone will do alot better. And, most of these products provide consistent and constant CO2 release, which is not ideal, as plants don’t use CO2 supplementation when the lights are off, or when exhaust fans are on. Not to count whether some of these products actually can provide 1,200-1,500 ppm of CO2 for extended periods of time.

But my original question was more what level of CO2 production the “yeast/sugar bottle” can provide. If it’s an increase from 250ppm to 300ppm, maybe not really worth it over increasing air circulation.

They respire CO2 day and night, but yeah, there's no photosynthesis in the dark.

An important consideration is the other growth factors have to be dialed up to take advantage of increased CO2. (Did anyone already say that? I haven't time to read the whole thread.)

Co2 at the right ppm does make a difference
