Hello, this is my first grow cycle in 7 years. Previously, I had a decent experience growing tomatoes and cucumbers using hydroponics in my small 50 m² greenhouse. Around the same time, I also had a few cycles with cannabis on a coco substrate.

However, now I’m facing some challenges—I’ve been trying to get my grow box running for two months, but the plants aren’t doing very well.

I’ve decided to start from scratch and really hope for the community’s help.

My Grow Setup:

  • Grow box: 80×80 cm
  • Lighting: Sanlight EVO 3-80 1.5, 200W
  • Ventilation: PrimaKlima PK 125EC-TC, max. 680 m³/h
  • Substrate: Grodan Delta Kulturblock XL, 15×15×14.2 cm
  • Irrigation: Drip system with substrate weight control
  • Nutrition: CANNA Hydro
I also have a monitoring system for key parameters: temperature, humidity, and substrate weight.

Climate in the Grow Box:

  • Temperature: 22–26°C
  • Humidity: 60–75%

Strains I’ll Be Growing:

3x Gelato and 3x Critical Kush from Barney’s Farm.

Alright, here we go!

I will germinate the seeds in a moist cellulose napkin at a temperature of 25°C.

Six days since seed soaking:
  • PPFD: 100
  • Temperature: 21–22°C
  • Humidity: 70%
Do you think it's time to place them in larger rockwool cubes?
Aren't they stretching too much?
The tallest one is 2.2 inches now—maybe it's time to increase the light intensity?
Do they look normal overall?

Thank you very much for your advice!

Seven days since seed soaking:
  • PPFD: 140
  • Temperature: 21–22°C
  • Humidity: 70%
Transplanted into cubes:
  • Grodan Delta - 4X4X2.4 inches
Pre-soaked with:
  • Ph - 5.8
  • EC - 0.7
  • Bayer Previcur Energy - 6 ml / 10 l
  • Canna Rhizotonic - 20 ml / 10 l
  • Canna Hydro Vega

It seems like something is going wrong again:

In my opinion, the seedling in the first photo doesn’t look too pale.

I'm new to the forum and to growing, and I don't understand why no one is responding to me.
Am I posting in the wrong section of the forum, or what’s the reason?

Thanks, everyone!

New growth is almost always pale. But I agree, it is concerning given the past issues you have had. At this stage I would give her a small drink. A few drops of good PH water and light nutrients down the stem. Safer then saturating your medium.

Can we get a picture of the whole teny, like above the plants, light(s), ventilation etc

Cheers buddy

Just today I transplanted them into bigger cubes and they are moistened with fresh solution:

Transplanted into cubes:
  • Grodan Delta - 4X4X2.4 inches
Pre-soaked with:
  • Ph - 5.8
  • EC - 0.7
  • Bayer Previcur Energy - 6 ml / 10 l
  • Canna Rhizotonic - 20 ml / 10 l
  • Canna Hydro Vega

Seedlings are tricky in rockwool bc it stays
quite saturated until the roots drink it up.
Also it should be pre-soaked at 5.5ph for
15-30 minutes, then shaken out to as dry
as you can get them. Use your fingertip or
pencil or something and push some of the
bigger cube into the air gaps you left when
transplanting, when air and light get to roots
it turns them into bark.

Looks great! At this stage the girl will need humidity in the air. The roots are young and it will take time for her to drink those nutrients. Look into controlling your humidity. 60-70% is what you need now. But soon you will need it closer to 50%.

Good point about the roots, I will do just that.

And I will water only after the substrate has lost at least 30% of its moisture.

The cubes have been well washed and soaked, so Ph should be fine.

Day 10 since soaking:
  • PPFD: 100
  • Temperature: 21–22°C
  • Humidity: 70%
  • Substrate humidity 80%
Took a syringe draw from the Ph control cube and found as much as 7.3.

This is a bit strange, as the cubes were soaked for 24 hours with Ph correction to 5.7.
Then they were rinsed abundantly with 5.7 solution.

In addition, large cubes on the background were foolishly prematurely soaked with the same parameters, I took an extract from them too and there Ph was 5.7.

Small spots appeared on the leaves.

The substrate was washed with a solution of Ph 5.2 Ec 0.7
Now Ph in the cubes is 5.7.

In your opinion, are the plants developing normally for the 10th day since soaking?

It has been 7 days since germination.

By the way, from what period is it correct to count time?

Thank you all!

I analyzed the solution extract from the cubes again.
  • Ph: 6.3 was 5.5.
  • Ec: 0.5 was 0.7

That is, in five days, Ph increased by 0.8 units and EC decreased by 0.2 units. The humidity of the cube decreased by 30% (170 milliliters).

These are not bad indicators for the beginning of vegetation, right?

If we do not take into account that Ph is growing too fast, I think it plays a role in the alkalinity of the cubes themselves, soon watering will be more intense absorbent cotton will be well washed and Ph will be more stable.

Watering was done with a solution:
  • Ph: 5.2
  • EC: 0.7
  • Bayer Previcur Energy - 6 ml / 10 l

I water manually until the substrate humidity decreases by 30%.
I think about a week later you can start drip irrigation.

Can you tell me when it is better to transplant to large cubes?
When the whole bottom is covered with roots or earlier?

Day 19 since soaking:
  • PPFD: 100
  • Temperature: 20–21°C
  • Humidity: 70-75%
Struggling with Ph, constantly rises to 6.5, but EC drops, which is not bad. A couple of plants showed problems with Ph.

Finally transplanted to Grodan Delta Kulturblock XL 6”

Pre-washed to Ph 5.5, but after 2 days Ph rose again.

Today I rinsed with solution:
  • Ph - 5.2
  • Ec - 0.9
  • Powder Feeding BioEnhancer - 5g/10l
  • Canna Rhizotonic - 30ml/10l
  • Previcur Energy - 6ml/10l

With humidity all bad, below 70 can not lower, bought a dehumidifier for 20m2 on peltier elements, for 3 days half a liter of water, returned to the store.

With the temperature, in a couple of days will come ceramic heater with blowing 300 watts, probably and humidity will fall a little.

With lighting, too, until I stabilize humidity/temperature/Ph, do not increase.

Just a hint, 19 days since soaking the seeds, the plants look quite small and weak?

I will be glad to any advice and comments.

Starting to pick up the growth rate now!
Looking good bro!! 👍🏼
