So I haven't given up yet. With a new 5x5 and a 4x4 kids swimming pool I've managed to put together a automated watering system, flood system ,ebb and flow 27 gal reservoir with a pump and line going to the 4x4 pool and a similar pump from pool to reservoir both on timers I've managed to free up so much time. After 6 weeks veg for 1st group and three weeks veg for second group im feeding them all transition to bloom cycle. Now I may be crazy and doing wrong but they are all taking EC 2100 pH 5.9 ish. This is the fastest most explosive growth I've ever done. 19 babies are drinking 3 gallons daily and it's increasing. Wanting to ask if I need to give such high EC cause I'm going through flora series quickly . Basically in 7 weeks they are it all up. I've read some EC guidelines and wondering since I'm forcing my photos into flowering can I excellerate my feeding schedule. At six weeks I feed them between 1800 and 2400 EC and they are taking it. I noticed dark blueing on some leaves so I dialed it down to 1850 EC this week . With a 12 on off light schedule and two 40 minutes soaked daily they seem very happy. I'm hoping for 8 to nine weeks flowering but I have 5 variety and 1 auto that's already forming 8 colas on it. I created manifolds on the older 5 plants and spent a lot of time training defoliating and topping ,filming . I'm averaging 8 main colas per plant. I think I made mistake topping with only two nodes so they are short stout and bushy. I'm only going to defoliate when light is blocked. How high EC should I move forward with . Any old timers wish to share some wisdom? Here are pics of old homemade tent and new one with kiddy pool.

2.4 EC seems like a lot. I never really went past 1.8 in Coco/perlite with Flora series in my ebb and flow system. With an appropriate strain and dialed in environment, they will eat a lot for sure.

Be mindful of salts buildup as you go along, and be ready to remedy it.

I too get paranoid about buildup in coco. I feel a lot of people miss that detail coming from soil. I stay ahead and ensure I get plentiful run off every watering. Then deep in flower, I hit them a little harder once week and absolutely ensure the bottom salts are flushed. I’ll even measure the runoff ppm to ensure I’m not torching the girl.

I love your setup and look forward to seeing the results! My max is EC is 1.4 and usual around 1. I do feel I underfeed sometimes.. I’m still dialing in on coco, after a rough start..I’d rather undershoot until I know the limits.

Hand watering? Good call on getting enough runoff. In a perfect world, we are replacing what's in the coco currently with what we're feeding it at the moment. Too much runoff is a waste, too little and you're possibly in unknown ppm and pH territory with pH and EC changes going out of band.

Ebb and flow, I feel, is even more susceptible to build up over a shorter amount of time. I'm keen to keep track of reservoir measurements between change outs, and occasional pH'd water-only cycles to keep the coco from getting out of whack.

Yikes! I'll stick to hand watering. I worked as an electrical controls engineer for 20 years. I find more enjoyment not automating everything! 🤣
I do find these automated system interesting. But I enjoy watching others do such things this late in life.

So you understand why I'm going back to soil and hand watering. 😀

Every year, it seems, I'm leaving my electrical/electronic mind behind in favor of simple generalities and cool breezes on the front porch. Life is fucking weird sometimes.

I do! I wouldn't be able to leave the house for more than 12 hours. I'd be planning every contingency. 🤣 I'd have backup power supplies, flow sensors monitoring everything, backup systems.

I'll just put some wicks down if the wife and I need to get away for a bit.

Welcome to The Farm! I'll be interested to follow along. The plants will let you know if they're happy with what you're doing. Take good notes.
