What Id do/reccomend for edibles, is I make bubble hash first then make a full spectrum oil. It makes everything edibles simpler to work out and a lot less wasteful of product through experimenting
Once the hash is dry I'll soak it in 91% isopropyl or some ever clear (I prefer iso) for a bit. No need to quick wash it since the bulk of the chlorophyll containing matter is already gone.
After soaking about 15-20 mins in a jar with lots of shakes I'll pour it through a double coffee filter (you can squeeze the excess out since little to not chlorophyll matter)
I'll pour this filtered alcohol into a Pyrex dish and put it in the oven set to 200f (if you have a gas or propane oven don't be stupid)
I'll let it sit till the alcohol is gone then close the oven and let it bake at 200f for 2-3hrs. That way all the decarbing is already done.
I'll pull the dish out and scrape up the amber oil. I guage potency by taking a dab of it and comparing to something I know the potency of or often don't even compare it at all.
I'll scrape up and melt this oil right into hot budder or coco oil/mct and take it off the heat as soon as it's nice and homogenous. No need to add water, no need to cheese cloth or strain at all. It's ready to go. Ready to cook.
It's easy to make small sample batches and test potency and take notes for future batches this way too. And if your a clone grower you'll figure out exactly which of your plants are most ideal for edibles pretty easily and wasting very little product in the process. You can make one cookie at a time with a single tablespoon of budder til you know your math and perceived potency this way if you want to.
When it comes to gauging potency of edibles straight THC mg content is really only super meaningful with edibles made with straight THC distillate, not full spectrum oils from flowers too. There's a lot of entourage effect and variability that's doesn't translate 1 for 1 to edibles, and sometimes entourage effects pop out of edibles that don't exist in the smoked product too and that's why the retail market tends to use pure THC distillate and dose by pure mg content. It's just more predictable and repeatable that way.
No guesswork or extra experimentation, just dial in and run it.
P.s. edibles taste WAY better this way too lol
