Outdoor situation… if you bud wash… can you spray hard out insecticide at the start of flower .?

I’m trippin’n hard it’s doing my head in!!
I’m down under.
I hate bugs. I have never dealt with this before.
Fucking scale are taking my plants for a ride. I’m going to possible end up losing everything or having the worst crop ever.
I’ll send a few pics through. They aren’t small. Maybe why they are still alive atm.
I have sprayed safely for them. It’s not really doing the job.
Can I spray them with a hard core insecticide if I do a good bud wash before I dry…?
if so .. what would some one recommend spraying.
I know people do this in big grow set ups when there are issues and I don’t think they care about the chemicals… I do! But I also wonder if a bud wash is the answer.
I’d rather spray it and not smoke it then watch it die!

I have wiped them off once with a scrubber. They come back hard. I sprayed few days ago. They seem worse.

I have to go away for a week soon and I’m so worried Im going to come back to a disaster!
5 days ago I sprayed it, I’m going to go hard with a neem oil again tonight and accept it may make it harsh and change flavour. It is very early stage flower but yeh still not ideal to spray.
When I get back in a week I’m going to try a remedy of natural oils ect. Or if it’s to far gone I’m going to cry.
If I can find out if bud wash helps remove chemicals I will contemplate using something stronger.
I have usually been a full organic grower. But I’ve had to stray away. And I’m trying to find the line of what is acceptable in a non acceptable world!

What are you spraying them with? Have you tried isopropyl alcohol? I’d just use a rag soaked in IPA and rub down the stems.

I would probably direct that towards someone down under like @Justlovetogrow or ask in the Trainwreck thread if you don’t get anything here. There are some Aussies there. I’m in California and can’t offer any advice. Good luck

Gday mates scale on outdoor plants can be a real prick neem might knock em down a bit but personally I wouldn’t use in flower u need a soapy acidic solution but best is prob lady bugs they will smash into em I hate spraying anything on my plants in flower but maybe pure crop 1 or lost coast therapy the lost coast is hard to get here but an American on here may get it and send it to ya might work it should be easy to spot scale they don’t really move just sit there sucking the life out your plants so get a pressure sprayer and give it to em knock em off if they move around they could be mealy bugs I’m strictly indoors these days been yrs since I grew outside but hope u get on top of em mate

There’s a product called Yates scale gun sold at bunnos says 1 day withholding period before harvest Id just be very careful not to spray the buds

I'm in your camp. I'd avoid pesticides like the plague. Or ANY chemical for that matter. 45 years of smoking cigs has given me more chemicals than Dow.

Setup a few small fire pits slightly up wind of the plants. Just enough to make a hue of smoke in the area. Bugs wouldn't love it. Plants probably wouldn't care.

I will reply to all shortly!! Love a lot of the answers.
Because I’m sort of stuck and need to go away for a week. The person watering has no idea about anything so I had to make drastic decisions before I left.
2 of us spent 4 hours with a tooth brush yesterday, scratching as gentle as possible we wiped pretty much everything.
It was fucked.
I should have used alcohol. I have heard of that. I have my own still and have plenty of methanol on hand. (IDIOT!) anyway,.,
So we did that.. then last night I sprayed again. It seems to have knocked them over, slowed them down, pissed them off..: at the least I think I have got myself an extra week of life. Maybe a bit of leaf burn.. but it’s what it is.
The repercussions of what I have done will only be known after harvest.. if there is one.
And even then..: I’d say I’ll have fucked the taste and flavour and niceness.., and maybe hurt the body. But fuck I have done some shit things to my body back when I was younger this can’t be the worst!
I still being hopeful I’m not deep enough into flower to affect it to much..

Shall reply to you all soon I gotta get some rest. This time tomorrow I’ll be catching fresh snapper and king fish!
And not letting my mind trip out on what’s happening back at home!

The scale has fairly well won. This is After seven days. I had wiped everything off with the toothbrush I had sprayed everything before I went away for a week, they got looked after water wise while I was away but that was it… in that week we got six days of 38 to 41°C.. which intern gave me some chemical burn. The really bad one that is completely dead you can see was very week before I left. The bugs had really gotten hold of it and eaten a lot of it and it just hasn’t handled the spray and died four days later in the heat.. the two sort of next to each other they have just been stripped from the bottom all the way up. There is some stuff going on at the top, but there’s not a lot of life left in the Plants. The biggest looking one there which I have zoomed in on you can see the scales have come back in serious force. There was literally none there I removed them with a toothbrush a week ago and I sprayed a week ago as well..
Obviously, spray isn’t working and is well and truly getting too late to spray any more. It was already too late really…
Anyway, here we are now… I’m going to go out and rub them with a rag covered in alcohol and try to slow them down a bit every day. But I just thought I’d show everybody how out of control Things can get in quite a short period of time with scale. it wasn’t just the week. I’ve had a bit of a problem with them for the last maybe six eight weeks. I would have to check exactly how long but in the last three weeks it’s just been absolutely out of control and unmanageable.. so yeah, that’s what’s happened and I’m not too sure what else I could’ve done in the time frame I had. The mealy bug destroyers could have been a great option if I had of gotten onto it early enough.. But this is where I’m at.
