Yes. It's used for feeding sugars to your microbes. It does nothing for the taste.

I use 1 tbs per gallon of water every other week.

With the caveat that it wouldn’t really be effective if you’re using synthetic nutes. (And arguably not effective even in organics.) But it’s good in cookies.

used molases once in hydro it made ph go up like crazy.but life was building aswell.for taste i have no idea maybe it got on the plant a little but molases has a shitty taste anyways soo even if it got on the plant it wasnt anything wow

All the sugar.. Sweetener products etc claim to add terps flavour etc.. They don't directly affect or flavour plants.. But the microbes they feed do.
Thriving microbial environment = happy plant and flavour
