I made 500# or so of biochar yesterday. I had 3 pits running. It was smoky but it was kinda fun.
My animals all stood and watched me. It took several hours and it was worth it.
I charged the goods with super nasty fermented chicken goat cow donkey poo and tons of grass leaves etc. The mix has been fermenting since Sept.
I added 5 gallons to 500# of charcoal and pond water to slop it up. I'm going to pulverize the coal today and Chuck it in the garden.
The info I watched said this will really help with microbial growth. I'm hoping it helps.
If the Indians used this method I think this will work. Meaning I will bring in beneficial microbes etc.

biochar seem good as long as not made from contaminated components, and not used in too large ratio.

In addition biochar is phenomonal in the acid soil condition but with alkalinized soil the results can be some issues with micronutrient deficiencies

I've used wood from my property. I cut the brush last fall and chunked it up to 2 foot lengths. I used both oak and soft woods from brush.
I understand the issues with contaminants but these were all healthy trees and brush. Today I'm making more if the winds calm down. The blue norther we got yesterday caused tornadoes in Sanford. 30 miles East. Blustery out there at the moment.

Sanford? I’ve live in Florida a few times. When I lived in cocoa beach my neighbor was from Sanford. He had a picture of a weed plant, one of the biggest I’ve ever seen, till recently. He was a full on character, guns everywhere in his apartment. I’m with you with your bio hat, I was gonna make some. Good luck!

Hey! I'm in a very dark spot here. 10 acres surrounded by federal land. Im a 1st timer. I had my soil checked 3 yrs ago. With all the CHEMTRAILS my pastures aren't growing at all since Sept.
I've had to buy 12 hay bales for my critters. Kinda flipped out over the no growth for 6 months.
My outdoor grow will be in fab pots this yr.
With biochar added to soil.
I hope it works...

We had our soil tested here 3 yrs ago. I just brought another sample in waiting for the analysis.
My neighbor, a mile away had his soil tested. He raises Arabians and he has had very very little growth all winter as have I on our pastures. He said that the Aluminum in the surface soil has spiked to super high unnatural levels as has other chems.
Very strange. I have cut the pasture since last September when I usually cut it every month

Very very strange.

Agreed, seems strange. I am from plant earth by the way. I’m not sure the chemtrails aspect.
I was sent info on X of Government Funded spraying.
I don't know why they would do this. But....

Heard some folks got aluminum in the soil recently. Wouldn't surprise me if the results show that for you too.

Very nice. Have thought about making my own biochar but haven't made that leap. Mainly because it's a big hole to dig by hand. It's great for living soil/organic growing. I throw 2 or 3 gallons into every compost pile I make which is the base of my living soil. I highly recommend the book "Biochar for Home Gardeners ". Can't remember the authors name but it's available on Amazon Kindle. Edit: the book is actually " Gardening with Biochar " by Jeff Cox"

I cheated. I used the backhoe to break the surface.
Mine were a bit deep but it worked. I filled the entire wheelbarrow with 3 burns.
Took around 6 hrs.
It's drying now over a screen, visque e underneath screen to catch the juice.
Potent!
I have a bunch of hardwood ready for the next burn.
I'm stoked!!!
Thanks for the info on the book.

I'd worry about microplastics before I'd worry about chemtrails.

I'm very aware and concerned about those also.
And, oh yes, I use biochar at about 10% to 20% of my soil mixture.
Very cool to hear this. I'm going to make more tomorrow.
