we were chatting about dry amendments on another thread not in depth and not at length but I was telling you I got a place with a nice selection of raw amendments bulk! well! when i went to go grab this promix stuff and perlite yesterday, it was all gone! dude said the state made him get rid of it, he was not allowed to sell open bulk amendments like that anymore (mind you there might be hoops/red tape he doesnt want to go through to get it back) and he’s going to stop the promix stuff also as he gets that stuff from Canada LOL! im going to try and go down there with the truck and come up on to much medium! 🤣 he also has a shit ton of the Gaia green rock dust or whatever they do! so ill try and score a ton of that!
It’s very subjective as far as smell, I personally don’t even notice anything from the amendments, at most an earthy smell but not fishy, I only smell the Fishy smell when I use the Alaska fish fertilizer, even then it’s minimal, I only use it at 2nl / gallon though, if I increased concentration it may have more aroma, but I have seen no reason to push past 2ml/gal, my wife has a nose like a fuckin bloodhound, I run carbon filters even in veg, just for the soil smell. But funny enough I’ve never had her complain about a fish aroma in the house

If I open my dry tote on the other hand, she knows instantly 🤣

Appreciate you posting this . For so long I thought touching the roots like that would introduce “transplant shock” . ✌️🤓
I’ve never had an issue with touching the roots, I do make sure I have clean hands, sounds odd since you’re about to play with dirt, but you don’t wanna introduce any pathogens into your system, especially directly on the roots, as long as you dont break the soil you shouldn’t have a problem

I know some people who will literally take the plant out of the pot, and cut the roots from the bottom then transplant, it’s normally done on 1 gallon sized root balls, especially if over vegged and roots have overtaken the pot, and they swear that gets the best growth

Dude I love that “organic” smell of Gaia after watering! It totally tripped me out the first time after I added to everything and then watered it in hahaha! Took me back to my couple out door grows with that natural earthy healthy smell! : )

Man I was cursed with nose like that! My wife on the other hand has a horrible nose and also works in health care so she has shit and fat people creases burned into her nostrils! 🤣 so ill ask her if i smell like weed before a function or whatever and shell go “ I dunno” 😂 ok more AXE it is! ✌️

@Thatoneguyyouknow_

I already forgot and I can’t find your post in here. What did you say flower time expected on the pb2 and special queen?
7-8weeks for the pb2 if shes thriving, prob a little longer if stressed, she's a quick one though. 10 weeks on the special queen whether shes thriving or half dead. 10 weeks on my maui pheno thats in her too.

its hard for me to come off the jacks stuff i use in veg because it smells so much like actual food. Every time i mix some up the kitchen smells like fresh oatmeal, b vitamins and corn flakes lol.

We know she cooks. Does she clean? 😂 if not might be a return to sender thing 🤣
Oh she cleans… like obsessively, like I said she’s a stay at home mother that homeschools the kids while I work these insane amounts of hours, I don’t think I’ve came home in 20 years without the whole house being vacuumed, sink empty, floors mopped, counters bleached, you name it, she’s a clean freak… which is great cus I’m a fuckin slob 🤣

Impressive leaf size compared to height 👍

My plants are always all spindly early on ✌️💨

Their beefyness is mostly due to starting them under 5000/6500k t5/led.

I also tend to get my seedlings into full fat veg lighting a lot sooner then most and keep more intense light then most on them their entire life.

I have some I started under the full spectrum panel too. Get some warm white or deep red LEDs on em when they're little and they act like it's a bit too warm and go leggy on ya. No big deal though.

If she showed up here, my girlfriend would move her in and kick me out 🤣🤣🤣

The side by side comparison is crazy.

My main pro tip for fast growth, don’t let your plants sit in pots too long and start winding roots, one benefit to the holes I still in the pots is I can see when the roots reach the side walls, you’ll see the tips of the roots popping out where they are bing air pruned, once I see that I plan to up pot within a week, the less restriction your plants fed on those roots the faster they will grow out, and the faster the top side will grow out, I’ve always had the best luck transplanting every 2 weeks, with my new method it’ll be harder to do that, and I expect to be more rootbound at transplants but I’m ok with it as it’s the new style I need to become accustomed with.

But doin my organic non living soil method with Gaia and the COM amendments, I would aim for a plant being in a pot for no more than 2 weeks before up potting again. My final pot size would be either a 5 gallon bucket or a 12 gallon fabric pot,, either way my plants would go through at least 4-5 pots increasing the minimum soil amount possible at each up pot, my goal was to find a pot that would add no more than 2” to the root ball size in all directions

@Captspaulding 1986 Maui wowie and my 420 fast buds 🍓🦍 the auto is starting second week of flower ish

Do you have the temp controller for the heat mats? I have 2 heat mats but no temp control for em I wanna pick that up still
A heating pad is a necessary item for any avid horticulturist to ensure the proper temperature of the seeds being stored [in red solo cups in dirt waiting to sprout]. 🌱
