This was from a float down the York River, a tidal river in Southern Maine, that’s my old friend with a 36 inch striped bass, fly or die man!! Damn mice chewed a fist sized hole in the raft the winter of 2020 and I haven’t fixed it since then. Kinda bums me out thinking about it 😔
The Pigeon river. The little river from runs into it at green brier and it becomes the little pigeon river. Pigeon forge is the town between Gatlinburg and Sevierville lol

Next time you're in the area you should hit me up. I'm about an hour away. If you like good fishing I can definitely take ya to some cool places. This is one of those places like Michigan and the Pacific Northwest. The fishing here is pretty unbelievable.

The little pigeon between pigeon forge and Sevierville is a world class smallmouth river. The average smallmouth through there is 21" and over 5lbs. The river record is currently only 11 grams of the world record.

The average brown trout when the dam is generating in the evening at the clinch is 22" and about 4 lbs. Every early morning trip when the waters low to the clinch you'll net at least one 20+" rainbow too.

Those are the averages lol

The clinch record brown is only a couple pounds off the saltwater world record. Is like 35lbs or something now. A 35 lb trout 😳

You cross the bridge by the jail on foot and you can look at 25+ lb trout just chilling in every hole on the river.

Go up the french broad and you can catch 60-100lb lake sturgeon and 40+lb catfish.

East TN is a honey hole of fishing. Straight up. World class. Everywhere you go.

Waterfalls too. Lots and lots of waterfalls. This is cumberland falls. We call it tennessee's niagra. I landed my first +40lb blue cat about 50 yards below this waterfall. I caught my first +10lb walleye and first +5lb smallmouth bass on the same day right above it.

Can’t tell overall size but kinda looks like a bead breaker with a steel wheel rim straightner. If it’s 18-24 inches.

So I think that legit is a trick framing nail that’s been altered slightly to be able to remove a bad nail that was installed in some framing abutments so we can get in between some really tight framing a little tool like that to be able to wedge something out just enough for you to be able to get the hook on it from your hammer
I added the lighter for size reference.

The metal is dense. Feels like it would snap if I bent it. Definitely not a framing nail. Looks like a wire stripper has been cut into the end 🤷‍♂️

I use it to stir my bowl now ✌️🤓💨

Yeah, I don’t ever pay attention to any of that stuff when I’m sprouting my seeds unless it’s winter time and it’s extremely dry but generally, I’ll germinate my seeds and relative humidity range in anywhere from 45% to 65% and I’ve never really had a difference in the outcome of my germination rate it’s more about creating that little zone down in the .medium by a keeping the seedling lightly saturated before break ground and just making sure that your heat stays you know 75°. I found that the humidity domes can be counterproductive. They can actually cause people to spray their sea too much apply the dome and sometimes it can cause Something called root dampening. Some strains are more resistant than others, but there are some out there that with a barely established route zone will be suffocated by the amount of water around the route with a delicate seedling or strain.
Yeah doming seeds is another one of those things that I did when I started growing just because I saw other people do it. I have way better result without it. Honestly like you said. I germinate them in a towel about 48 hours until you can see a little tiny bit of tap root emerging and throw them on some damp soil and bam. Way better results than fucking with a dome lol now cloning I’m all about the dome haha

Yeah I will definitely look you up if I come down there. I know that I barely scratched the surface at what Tennessee has to offer for fishing, but it was also a family vacation so I couldn’t get away with disappearing all day with the car and going fishing. Where we stayed in Gatlinburg the pigeon river was literally at the bottom of the hill, so I could walk down to the river and fish. Back when I was single I’d be packing the truck and driving down there next week at an invitation to fish. As my buddy use to say “back when I was good “.

I think I’m going to Daisy chain a couple of batteries together and hook up a small 600 W or 60 W LED panel to keep these Oaxaca plants alive and pack them in my trailer strategically all the rest of them go away I think

I think you kinda have to…

@MartyMcFly42oh
I gave the paper towel method a try with tomatoes and out of 36 seeds 34 popped

Very gently (here's where I usually fuck up) put them in coco coir and covered up on the hot box. We'll see in a few days how I did. Felt good and only broke one root. If the majority pop above the surface I'll try the Gelato seeds again. Planted a couple hundred and only have 2 seedlings and one isn't growing🤬

My biggest issue is over saturated soil, I really struggle with the urge to keep the soil wet, too wet unfortunately. But I’m a sucker for gadgets so I recently bought a seed germination kit called a cannakan. It’s supposed to be the bees knees. I’m going to try to germinate a bunch of really old seeds that I found in my desk from back when Pedro Martinez was pitching for the Red Sox. I think they were brick weed?? If they pop I might have to do a big solo cup grow and flip them to flower sooner rather than later. I’ve always wondered what was possible if you took brick weed schwagg and grew it out in a controlled indoor environment with all the creature comforts that name brand strains received. I guess one could argue that the thing that made brick weed shity was the overall neglect and lack of proper cultivation techniques that went into producing it. Almost like a nature vs nurture argument.

I feel like I need to start wearing costumes like that daily. What would you do if you rolled up in the mountains for a nice scenic drive and saw me wearing some s*** like that out in my yard? 🤣
Honestly my spider senses would tell me to get the fuck out of dodge, seen too many horror movies 🤣. I’ve been chased out of the woods by people in Shakespearian outfits in pickup trucks while fully engulfed in a heavy acid trip before. We weren’t aware that they were part of a playwright that did Shakespear after dark in the park 🤣🤣🤣

But if I knew you were good people who weren’t going to drug me and wear my face as a mask, yeah let’s party!

I always enjoyed fishing, especially snook...

My big bro on the other hand was a fanatic -
hunter, fisher, trapper; he lived in the woods
of Western NY; until he got the Parkinson's
real bad - now he just teaches people how
to bait hooks and traps and shit; he's
become a master of baiting, a master-
baiter if you will... and do to all the shaking
he said he master-baits every time he takes
a piss... but I wasn't sure what he meant by
all that 😝 🔫🎣🪤🪱💪🎆🤯🤜😆🤣
