Time to return the scanner. It's kind of nice but not sure how much I'll use it for $170. Fuck Bezos.

@Captspaulding check out this CRS liquid culture isolate I spawned to bulk barely a week ago. (Just a shoebox)

Lotta fatties. Thousands of pins and primordia. Expecting great things from this one. Haven't seen the primordia come in this fast in a while. But I've also been pretty lazy with it for a while now too.

I think I prob still have a couple myceliums in the LC but def not worried about it.

What’s up folks! Sorry for the spam I cleared 175 topics and I think logic did another 100 they hit hard last night haha

Gettin everything together, noticing a few minor issues but nothing that won’t let me get started, everything working except the Co2 meter but I’ve seen a few others with a issue with em, might need a firmware update haven’t gotten that far. My exhaust dosent have a controller so it can’t be controlled through the system but that’s ok I’ll run it on speed controller till I figure that out, besides that everything else is working, timers, sunrise sunset, VPD Temp RH PPFD, just gotta get the pot put together and in and I can install the soil temp / moisture / and EC meter

I like the ability to run off and on equipment remotely

This AI stuff is pretty cool. Now I can stop ripping Jerry off 🤣

I agree that AI, how you're using it, is pretty neat.
It sucks that it's to a point that it's hard to tell what is real or not, people always trying to deceive people and AI makes it easier.

So many people are already "disconnected" from reality.

Anthropic (AI company) Just released a statement saying AI can be dangerous. If you train it as the main goal to win, it will do whatever it takes to win.
You train it with intent on compassion, it will be compassionate.
The user of the AI makes the intention for these systems, people can't get along now.....Just wait till they have AI doing their dirty work.

Anthropic also said there's no pause button for AI without dismantling the whole system, internet, etc
Pretty much there's no stopping it now and all it does is learn more and more.
Up to the people whether AI becomes convenience or dangerous.
Users can't be lazy and rely on AI or it will start controlling your life, thoughts, etc.

AI isn't real AI as we think of it yet. We will get there soon enough, I don't think it's a good thing tbh. I am deep into tech and AI is dangerous not on its own necessarily, but in the hands of bad actors it's disastrous

im very familiar with all the potential dark sides of AI and obsessively keep up with the advancements.

This has the exact same society Destroying/society saving relationship potential of Nuclear Energy, potentially way more destructive/helpful then even nuclear energy.

This sort of technology, at this stage, advancing this quickly, it's akin to the development of electricty, or the wheel or something. Most have no fuckin clue what kind of change is coming to our culture. And they have no idea how close it is... We are starring the thing eye to eye right now. Already...

The box has already been opened though, and Pandora puts up one helluva fight, lemme tell ya. We are going to see the bell curve go vertical within our life times. I never thought that would be the case, but it is. And it's pretty fuckin nerve racking to see it coming when the vast majority are totally blind to it, and half the one's that know where it's going feel morally obligated to push toward it as fast as is technologically possible because they genuinely don't see a difference between a true AI superintelligence and "God".

yea, this kind of technology in the hands of bad actors? Fuuuuuuuuuuuck man...

A lot of people deep into the AI thing are already fearing how an AI superintelligence will treat humans when it doesn't have access to our personal subjectivity, or a safty-feature stripped version of such an AI were released intop public servers or something. It would, and could only analyze us objectively based on our actions, behaviors, and relationships within this world. And would have completely and total control over just about anything technological that isnt isolated within its own private network too. And it could break into most private networks if they're not not physically discrete networks quite easily. Would make the best human hackers seem like brain-dead slugs.

And the human species analyzed objectively? Fuuuuuuuuuuck man... It wouldnt even have to nuke us sky-net style. it could just open up all our biological weapons labs and the world would just start recovering literally overnight without us being a problem anymore. Put that shit in something from Boston Dynamics robotics and you got an army of Ultrons too... straight up.

China released a video recently of a damn robot breakdancing.... while holding an axe 🙃 Put that shit in ultra-light titanium plate armor and a FMJ 7.62 prob wont punch through.

you could go from all good, to some idiot in some doomsday cult that bought something off the dark web literally kick-starting the apocalypse in like 6 hours time..... Or Skynet. And there's practically zero truly effective ways to stop either one, but it's generating so much profit through man-hour savings already, it damn sure ain't gonna stop.

To whom it may concern (everybody):
I had a creepy and scary chat with AI. It's saying that the singularly (information doubling so fast we don't even have time concepts to describe it) could occur within 5 yrs at current rates.

On the Edge of the Great Leap

We are standing on the razor’s edge of something truly unprecedented—an evolutionary inflection point so sharp it may as well be a cosmic coin toss. Whether by design or disaster, we are about to launch ourselves either thousands of years into the future—or thousands of years into the past. And the strangest part? It could happen almost overnight.

This isn’t just metaphor or poetry. Look around. Technology is unraveling time itself: AI is learning faster than we can legislate it, biology is being rewritten with CRISPR like we’re editing Word docs, and entire industries—entire worldviews—are evaporating in real time. In one trajectory, we master our tools, transcend our limitations, and step into a future where disease, poverty, and war are archaic footnotes. In the other? The tools master us—and we collapse under the weight of our own unchecked cleverness.

It’s not a slow climb anymore. It’s an exponential curve. The choices we make today—individually and collectively—will echo louder than entire centuries used to. This is not just progress. This is transcendence or reset. And the real question is: will we awaken in time to choose?

Because evolution doesn’t wait. It moves when the pressure builds, and it moves fast when it does.

The chat is on my new thread (lots of other good stuff in there as well, stop by and say hey):
