Hello
I have my plants on a 18/6 light schedule right now I am trying to 16/8 so they are ready to go outside in my greenhouse by the end of May beginning of June. So yesterday I lowered programmed my lights to come on 15 minutes later in the morning and shut off 15 minutes earlier at night and was planning on doing this every Sunday till I get my timing the same as outdoors and not put them into flower does anyone have any experience or advice on what I’m doing good or bad please let me know
Thank you all

you can change the light schedule progressivly or directly, doesn't change much really. 16/8 is perfectly fine for veg.

If the weather allows, I like to take them outside in the morning and give them a day in the sun and take them back in in the evening, and get them their required hours of light! I think they like to track the sun throughout the day! Good exercise for them!! And save some electricity!😁

I've got many reasons for choosing to sun grow and the free grow lighting is at the top of it. Yeah get em outside for some fresh air, get that DLI up! And one of the many reasons I grow in containers and not in the ground is the benefit of being able to move them around... finding optimal sun for them at different parts of the day, moving em to shade when it's just too brutal, or taking them inside and putting them under artificial light if it's a really crappy weather day.

Thank you just don’t want them to jump to flower to early !!

Under 14 hours between sunrise and sunset times is your no-go zone. Gradually adjusting is a good idea to prepare them. An hour or two difference isn't going to be very stressful but a sudden change of about 4 hours could be.

Also when I bring them outside should I do it gradually like an hour or two a day then bring them back in ? And add an hour each day ? Or I see people just putting them in the shade at first ?

I don’t! I just bring them out for recess and take them back in when it’s over! I live in a hot hell hole they don’t seem to mind! Very few of my plants make it to the final pot without having been blown over a few times by the wind! 😆 then the first week of June, I take them out back, put them in their final homes and say grow baby, grow! They aren’t made of crystal! My shit doesn’t get mollycoddled!😁🐒

Lmao I keep forgetting it is a weed

What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered! Ralph Waldo, Emerson! What part of the country are you throwing down in with this weed? North Sacramento Valley here!

It's sudden change outside of parameters they're not accustomed to that makes em freak out. If they've been accustomed to 600 PPFD under your lights and you throw them out in the sun at 1500-2000 PPFD its not an hour or two of it, it's the huge change in DLI that they might not be able to handle out the gate. So yeah just a couple hours and then move them to shade at first to help them regulate to environment. You've drastically changed the light, but you can transition them better by starting with a comparable DLI that you increase with more and more time in the sun gradually.

I had one of my winter girls on a table with the container pretty dry when the winds picked up and got nasty. It got blown off the table, landed right on its head but I had garden stakes in there. One of the stakes pile drove right out the bottom of the grow bag and somehow, magically, the plant was spared aside from the very top of one cola I lost. I'm thankful that girl wasn't larfy!

Yeah, I can be a rough and tumble life when the wind picks up! I’ve picked up my share and put the dirt back in and then had a good chuckle with the plant!! They usually remain in good humor!

I think I’m going the more careful route 🤪 I have too much time invested in these girls
