According to "The Global Brain" by Peter Russell -1984, we actually have a pretty good chance of making this evolutionary leap
more has happened since 1984 as far as progress and world change then did between Cleopatra and 1984 though.
Personally Im not so sure how applicable observation of that age are to social and technological progression. Nor am i convinced the next evolutionary leap in the progression of consciousness involves human minds at all. The universal bell curve of complexity of interaction jumped ship from biology to technology almost 10 years ago. The complexity of interaction bell curve hasn't jumped ship to a new stage since atomic chemistry developed biology at a minimum of 4 billion years ago. the one before that was pure energy condensing into atomic chemistry immediately following the big bang.
Big shit changes when that bell curve jumps to a new stage.
Whatever driving force is behind the exponential bell curve of universal complexity of interconnected interactions, at literally the atomic level, a force that has been unchangingly driving forward since the big bang and maybe even before that too, isn't just in pure energy, and atomic chemistry, and our heads anymore. It's literally in our networking technology now lol. This driving force by nature redesigns and improves upon itself, whatever it is, and now that technology can do that at a faster rate then biology can through evolution... This is (of course) where you now find that driving force expressing the exponential increase in interconnected atomic interactions that started with the birth of the universe itself.
That isaac asimov short story "The last question". Prob my favorite short story. As long as something, one thing, ANYthing can get to the point it can "let there be light" at anyscale, under any time domain at all. Nothing else matters and the process all starts over again to see how far it can get before the reset button invents itself again. This is also probably why everywhere you look at the micro and macro scale you just see more fractals. The entire thing, all of it, and us with it, is just a
fractal simulating itself
i personally believe all religion, philosophy, and culture to be a by-product of the subjective experience of the fractal as a whole from the perspective of the fractal whole itself. We call this state the "mystical" or "spiritual" experience. And it's also the reason you come out of it absolutely convinced "All is one" and "All is light" etc etc and that nothing matters because "All is one" and "All is light"
p.s All is one, All is light.
