@the rrock: nope

@BearWater: Thanks for welcoming me, and an excellent tip regarding the noise clamp. It is not visible in the previous picture but it is under the tape. I also have a second/spare one I did not use:

This second day I don't really have an update to share. Everything is working as far as I can tell, and I think I just need to be patient. Every 3-4 hours I spray the soil plugs again, keep the humidity dome on it (I also spray the inside of the dome) and keep the humidifier in the tent running.

How it looks on day two:

Hopefully they will germinate, fingers crossed.
Oh dear there is a better way and those mean guys didn't tell you put your seed in a damp paper towel under a 40 watt bulb keeping the paper towel damp .your seeds will pop open and you are on your way .
Years ago, My now ex wife 👿 caught chicken pox from the kids …

Youdve thought I gave it to her 🤣 She was insufferable 🧟‍♂️.

Guess what I called her ???! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I heard “You called me the C word when I had Chicken Pox for years !!”🤣🤣🤣✌️

Of course it takes a few days i have even out grown that method. I have a small glass same size around as a 40 watt bulb .I have a lamp with the folding arm for a desk glass 1/2 full clean water glass clean of course puts your seeds in the water swirl. To see if all float.set bulb as far down on glass leaving a gap for air.i swirl mine everything I go in room .they should pop open and tail come out within about 3 days.i then plant mine in the medium

New update, all three have sprouted:

Roots are growing out of the soil plug by all of them. The one on the right is a bit leggy, in order to keep the canopy even in the future I will keep the leggy one aside and proceed with the two evcen ones:

I won't make the same mistake twice by growing them in aeroponics and watch them suffer after transferring them into RDWC. This time the soil plug is directly in the RDWC netpot, their forever home. And the moment I handwater them, but I do have a drip feed solution in house. Also got the blue Adlight running to promote root development. So far so good for this new strain.

New update: day 7 since sprouting, and the first day in to the RDWC system. I cleaned everything up, made a batch of new RO water (120l) added some nutrients to start of:

Cleared out the solution and cleaned everything. Refilled and put the plants in.

Closed the reservoir and started to dail in the light:

All set for next run, yeah!

I took the advice to not start them in aeroponics like last time, since I don't want to shock/stunt the plants. This time the soil plug is planted without a netpot for aeroponics directly into the big netpot of the rdwc system.

Currently at 300PPM 0.4EC, light at 300PPFD 16" from plants.
Temp around 25C and humidity of 60%.

I added some ph'ed RO water to top off the res and added one liter. EC was climbing a little bit after the plants started to drink water, just after 08:00 I added the water and since then it is stable.

Currently at 310PPM 0.4EC, light at 300PPFD 16" from plants.
Temp around 25C and humidity of 60-65%.

One of the upcoming days I will top both plants.

Pretty cool set up you’ve got. I’d love to get in to hydro but I’m far too lazy for the technical side of it. 🤣

Thanks, I appreciate it. It is honestly not as hard as it looks, and it maybe takes an hour to setup and then you are set. Just swap out the reservoir every 1-2 weeks and keep an eye on the pH-level. Once you dailed in, you only have to adjust it maybe once a day to keep it the same, it is not a problem to let it drift 0.1pH before adjusting again.

pH stayed the same the last days around 5.8/5.9:

As you can see the right one is still lacking behind. I hope this will improve over time.
Life at the reservoir was steady and ph is now going back 0.1 to 5.8 again. It has been over 14 days that I swapped the reservoir and PPM readings are 290 now (previously 300) waterline is still declining.

Should I do a res change with a little bit more fresh nutes, just top it off with ph'ed RO water or topping off with a nutrient solution?

The lights are at 350 PPFD, should I slowly increase this?

They are looking good. I am trying to get everything I need to do an actual hydro run in my big tent next grow around. Instead of the 5 gallon bucket I made lol

Did One Bell disappear? I've noticed no new activity here in close to a month..

I'm really hoping they didn't give up and throw in the towel....

Nope, but had a lot of setbacks. Root rot again on my second grow. Only one plant survived:

Currenlty preparing for the third attempt lol. I won't give up, no worries!

Wow tough break 2nd time? Any ideas on pathogen or what is causing the issue?
I run soil but my first grow was DWC. My fail was a $30 ph-ec tool set but I still got all the parts to make a 2 bucket RDWC.
Are you running sterile or Inoculants?

It is still kid of a mystery to me how it could happen, since I am using a chiller at 18C degrees and Great White. During the first grow everyhting seemed fine until I had the trellis up and did not check up the buckets anymore. This second grow, root rot set in faster and while I did not suspect it it was going on again, despite the waterchiller and Great White....

So I am looking for a different product to keep root rot out in rdwc. Any recommendations are welcome! Keep in mind I am in Europe and not everything is available here...

Did you re use hoses and air stones?
Have you thought about running sterile with H2o2?
I had no problems with root zone but my pH was so hosed fin algae would have died......

Yes, I even mulitplied the air intakes by three hoses per bucket in total, what a pump capable of doing three times the volume. Currently batteling the root rot in the second grow with h2o2.

And yeah I did reuse them, since I did not know it was root rot. I ruled it out first because of the waterchiller and using Great White, but it still got root rot unfortunately.

Ya I do not think you can really clean hoses and stones after root rot. Buckets and stuff sure. I ran with hydroguard and had no root issues. In some environments where a specific pathogen being mold or mildew is present the only way to hydro is sterile. Here is the thing though. When bennies are used up fighting an infection it kicks pH around. I followed the post for a while and it looked like you kept up on pH. In addition great white is a Benni but it looks like a booster of nutrition as some of the ingredients are just total Humic Acid components. It would eat organic matter but I am not sure it would eat algae.
. I had a lot of fun developing my tent for DWC. I was using inkbird controllers and a humidifier in tent to hold humidity and lights were the only source of heat. Used some reptile bulbs and the inkbird and could keep temps within say .6 degrees up and down. Made a split floor so the floor was even with the DWC buckets and on lanyards you could lift it up and swap buckets. I used the temp of the basement to hold the buckets between 66-69.
But after all the issues I just said I need to grow some pot and went to soil as I have grown food organically outside for 30 years. 2nd grow did white widow and got 7.5 oz useable.

One_bell sad to here you having issues the second grow around. In my one sec my first grow I put some fresh water clams/ muscles in water to help with algae. Not to sure what helped keep my phone balance steady at 5.7-6.0 maybe they helped that also as I was only using the Fox farm trio for nutes. Did u start in the dwc this time or did u start in the aeroponic system u started with ur first grow?
