No garden yet! Just a big pile of dirt! Everything else is indoors for now! Looks like the last few Spurts of spring! Into the oven pretty soon! Brang it! 🀠 what a mild ass winter! No excitement at all!πŸ‘
Yeah didnt even get our April snow! Hahaha! It’s off to the races up here! Veggies are in and pots are getting made up in a bit for the outdoor! : )

85Β° at 6 PM! another 10Β° and I am going for it! Good a place as any to have a heart attack!πŸ˜†πŸ’

I passed by your neck of the woods last week. It’s so pretty when everything is green. Went up to Old Station to open up the houses for the summer. Weather wasn’t great, temp was between 38 and 42, Saturday night it snowed about 500 feet higher up in elevation. I left Monday, when the weather got better. It’s always a crapshoot opening up, a pipe must of froze (don’t know how, I blew all the water out of the lines) and when I turned the water on I had a major water leak inside the wall. Had to cut a piece of the siding out to fix it. Thank god for β€œSharkbite” fittings! The creek was very high, fishing wasn’t too good. Saw a couple bears, pretty skinny, must of just come out of hibernation.

Right on,Phyto! It would be especially beautiful up there! Just starting to come alive at that elevation! So the place survived another winter! You never know till you go up!😍 that can be some wild country up there! Kind of the gateway to Lassen NP!

Lost the tops off a couple big pine trees, probably have to play Paul Bunyan later this summer, but I’ll get a few cords of wood! I was really happy to see the fruit trees I planted over the last few years all survived and were in flower. 4 apple trees, 2 pears and two cherries. I know between the ravens, squirrels, and jays I’ll never see a cherry!

Sweet! I have a cherry tree and I agree! I might get a bowl but the rest is for the critters! Anytime I was out in Fall River or Johnson Park. I would always take 89 to 44 back! If the weather was nice! That is some beautiful country out there! A lot of it still healing from the fires! Had a couple of customers in Viola! Year rounders! And hat Creek! Made the big circle! I never liked going through the canyon on 299! Too many fucking idiots! Old and scared! Lol!

I imagine that first trip up in the spring is a bit anxious! But you’ve been doing it so long you pretty much know what to expect! Whatever you find you deal with!πŸ‘
I bring an assortment of plumbing supplies, chainsaw, drills, etc. luckily every day was a β€œburn day” I probably loaded/burned up 50 loads of pine needles and downed tree branches, pretty sure they picked up the plume on satellite!!! Forgot to get a burn permit, but no one asked!

This is the time of year to,Git er done! And if you’re burning wet pine needles, they probably did see you up from the space station!😍
Surprisingly, the needles were pretty dry, but there was still a LOT of smoke. Enough that the guy at the gas station across the highway called to make sure everything was OK! At one point I had three piles burning at once. You’re right that you need to git-er done when you can, usually by early June they suspend all the burn permits. Last year I bought a pine needle rake that I pull behind the UTV, that’s an incredible time saver, but it still took three of us 3 solid days of raking and burning to just get the needles on the driveway and around the houses/decks and trailer pads..

IS this a real gorilla grow? like in some park or someone else's land or something?

Not a gorilla grow per se! An illegal grow that has to be done with a certain amount of discretion in deference to the unspoken wishes of my neighbor! Don’t want their visitors to be able to see it on their way in or out! And I tried to identify as a gorilla! Seems they have rather lofty standards, and wouldn’t have me!πŸ˜πŸ’ it’s in my backyard! About 100 yards from the house!

So a gorilla grow then?

There's quite the menagerie of critters up there. We see deer, bear, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, and mountain lions, bld eagles, osprey (and I've been told there are a few wolves around). We had a fisher living under the deck, he was real good at keeping the squirrel population down! I may drop a few seeds around the fruit trees since they get drip watered, just to see what happens. Need to use autos since the weather gets to too cold by October. Bugs will be a problem.
