Transitioning from inside to outside

Normally I start my plants outside, but this year I have started them indoor. I am wondering how I should go about transitioning them to be full time outdoor? I currently have them outside, in a sunny area. I plan to leave them for about two hours and then bring them inside, back under my light. I figured today would be a good day as there is some clouds, but overall sunny, and it is 20/21 degrees outside ( Celsius) which is the same as inside. does anyone have any recommendations? They are still rather young, germinated/planted on the 7th. ( I decided this year to start them straight in soil, rather than germinated between paper towels) Image attached, ones droopy, likely cause of a mishap that occurred during a recent transplant. as they were getting very string beany

I also start mine indoors for at least a month under the lights. I can't leave mine outdoors till around June 12th full time. By about June 1st i'll start the transition couple hrs at a time in the sunshine then put them under a shade canopy for another 2hrs. Everyday i'll leave them outside longer it will depend on how they react to the sun. It get's hot quickly here where i live and i would'nt put my tiny seedlings in the sun for long. So to sorta answer your question i'd wait till there a good 30days to 40days and strong enough to tolorate the elements. I transition from solo cup to 1/2gal pots on my photoperiods. By the way i'm in Southern Oregon and even today it's hot here now. 12:30 it's near 80f. But my daylight hrs are still around 13hrs and i'm waiting for 14hrs so they won't early flower.

These are my seed one's and some clones i made from my current tent grow. All for this years outdoor except 1 or 2 clones i'm giving away.

I live in Saskatchewan, it can get rather hot here. currently we are getting about 15 hours of daylight. They seem to be responding well to sun, when I leave them out for a couple hours then put them back inside under my light. Generally, past Victoria Day people put plants outside ( applies to pretty all plants, as there is a strong chance of frost before then. Do you have any advice on flipping them to flower outdoor? Previous years ive just waited till the daylight hours allowed them to flower. I cant bring them inside at that point ( I have cats who will destroy them)

I hate to break the news to you, but your daylight hours sun up to sundown are almost 15! But I would still wait till June 1!😁✌️

You’re golden in terms of hours of daylight! And if it’s only 70°, I would get them as much natural light as possible! You have some long hours of daylight up there!😁

And no way of flipping them early without getting into the light depp way of life! But that requires a lot of involvement and special gear! And daily tending! There are a few places where growing an auto outdoors is excusable! You might be in one of them! Probably not too late to start a couple if you had a mind to!

I wouldn’t! I think the time is right! Get some hours of sunlight on those squirts and let them spread their wings! Just be cognizant of the media moisture in those little cups! They may dry back a little quicker than you’re used to! But a little drink fixes that real quick! Let them stay in those till they get a node or two and the leaf start extending out over the edge of the cup! You wanna make sure the roots fill up that cup because it’s a lot easier to transplant when you got a good root ball! If you do it too early They are pretty flimsy and you really have to be careful! Full speed ahead!😁🐒 you have to get used to the difference in weight between a watered cup and one that is getting dry! Shouldn’t take long to figure that out! Always err on the dry side! That’s a quick fix!

And one more then I’ll shut up! Lol! First frost in Regina between September 11 and September 20! I don’t think it’s looking real good for photos! But you could still jump over to some autos and maybe get them in! Just to hedge your bet! Take it easy!

Im not sure how true this is, last year i had plants out until first week or 2 of October and they did great.

it was raining lately and i have some rainwater saved in jars in a dark place 😁 been using that to water them and i always have leaned towards the dry side,

Sorry just to be sure, you dont think i should limit their sunlight or time outside? is that still the case if it starts getting hot? right now its 22c

That is good news! Run with it! If you can get those little ones going, you might still be in business!

That’s perfect! Slam the sun to them! All you can get them!👍 you you could go another 15° without worrying! And that October news is wonderful! Now there is a great deal of hope compared to early September!

oh yes it is almost never near early September, late sep it could dip below 10 degrees at night, but i just cover them at night then :)
