Rq

Rqs sent me some fire Apple fritter 😍
The Apple Fritter seems to be fine. It's not only an issue with RQS. Most of the European breeders actually outsource their breeding and most of it is done in Spain. Not all of the Spanish breeders are bad either - but it's something to consider.

Simon from Serious Seeds speeks on the subject here:

ive used RQS for a long time. You usually find more people taking advantage of their "bad reputation" by stealing their photos and genetics, then immediately claiming royal queen stole it from them, then the other way around m8.

Promise. That's a 100% absolute guarantee as well. People on other forums also bash them for making F1s the right way too.... for some reason ive yet to figure out. People bashed them for calling their fast photos long veg autos too. So they stopped, just because other seedbanks lie and call them fast photos so the market forced rqs to be dishonest there too.

RQS has had some of my favorite seedbank plants for close to 15 years now. Im not even sponsored by them anymore either fwiw. Ive gotten bogus crap from a lot of european seedbanks as an american, a LOT of them. Hasnt happened from RQS once, and they even had the balls to expand into the USA directly unlike most the hermie crap breeders in europe that dont even touch male plants most of the time anymore.

RQS was a godsend for a broke young american in the 2000s trying to find decent seeds he could actually breed with or be confident in growing that didnt just produce hermie after hermie after hermie like what every other euro seedbank was ditching on broke americans at the time. Or that didnt cost like $25 per fem seed from some unheard of USA breeder

Theyre quite literally the only seedbank i still rep, will still use, and have never had a bad or unexpected experience with a single time. Shit half the nirvana seeds wouldnt even pop because they painted them at the time, the other half were genetically bound hermies from their accidental cross pollinations, and sometimes you had vigorous clean plants as an american, watching the europeans on the forums rocking GOLD blaming us for the garbage spare seeds they were peddling low cost purchase americans. That went on for like 5 years straight from just about every Euro seedbank willing to send to the USA. (unless you high rolled with spending)

A lot of them wouldnt even take cards, theyd make you mail them cash, and then you never got shit in return. 3x in a row, i mailed cash to RQS, like 50 bucks... and got my seeds within a month. Barneys boned me a couple times while they were "cash only if american" running scams on anyone that didnt spend $300 at a time, then they'd blame customs and say sorry. herbies was doing the exact same thing.

That was when the disinformation that small insignificant, and consistent light leaks could cause full genetically bound hermie expression started too. Which btw only happens from repeatedly stacking the same recessive traits through multiple generations while using no males. meaning they were either intentionally screwing american small buyers, or just peddling their accident off on us. RQS was a diamond in the rough as far as euro breeders went back then. Their descriptions were accurate, their oldschool lineages were legit. And my favorite plants they had back then, are still exactly the same today.

And it started because broke american were growing garbage the euro seedbanks were selling to people who couldnt spend a shit load of money at once. And were still dealing with that echo chamber nonsense because most americans are idiots and eat it up lmao

As far as im concerned with RQS, the haters gonna hate what they wish they were doing themselves. And thats not the first new breeder thats ripped RQS off and started telling people RQS was the thief either.

Drum roll please......

Hulkberry auto has used that picture for close to 10 years now , whatever "new breeder" they stole that pic from is a charlatan, and a thief. And a thief and a liar are the same person.

I really appreciate your input man! We didn't think that RQS stole the picture or vice versa. It seemed as if they both bought from the same seed producer.

We would need more insights to get a clearer picture but we imagine it like this: Companies place orders at bulk breeders. They will not chose anything by name, but rather by Indica/Sativa, fem/auto, flowering time etc. That way it's possible that the same exact strain is sold under different names but with very similiar specs. This theory would fit for the example I've mentioned earlier. When it comes to the picture, I had this weird idea that the bulk breeders will provide you with a photo or multiple photos to advertise it.

What is funny about the new German breeder with the indentical photo as RQS, that they also sell seeds from other companies - including RQS. So in conclusion we figured that the new German breeder might be a part of RQS, or that indeed that strain in question was something they bought from somewhere.

edit: forgot to add this from the RQS catalogue. Orion and Titan share the same pic (perhaps just a mistake with the print):

I think it’s pretty suspect when a breeder doesn’t have an entire photo catalog of a strain that they created. Unless they aren’t actually growing their own creations, why wouldn’t they? You mean to tell me that they grow something from seed to harvest, usually a minimum timeframe of 12 weeks and can’t snap a few photos?? Bullshit!!

Yeah that really seems odd. I never made any first hand experience, so your opinion weighs much more than mine when it comes to RQS.

Also my first statement should be clarified a bit. I spent alot of time on a Swiss grow forum and after a while I noticed that there was alot of hate for RQS. They even have a dedicated thread for it. Folks over there are smart asses, but they seem to know their shit. It's similiar to here with some members breeding themselves, trading seeds and according to their posts, they do quite well. Probably the forum is overall smaller then THCFARMER but they got 160k members and 4.3 million posts (I think it started in 2001 or so). Not all companies are hated on and of course there are also members over there, that like and grow RQS.

What seems a bit strange though is the amount of different strains that RQS has in their catalogue. They started around 2000, if I remember it right. Of course you could have many teams of breeders to create alot of strains, but it's hard to come out with alot of new stuff all the time. Same goes for Bud Voyage who just came out last year with a big catalogue. Somebody on the forum contacted them and they claimed to breed themselves - was sort of a whacky answer.

Anyway, I don't want to start some shit storm or whatever, but I'm really curios to find out the truth at some point. 😎

Ohh I wasn’t particularly weighing in on RQS but seed vendors in general who can’t produce photos of their plants, or reuse stock photos, it’s just lame and insulting to the intelligence of their potential customers. A shit practice basically, in my opinion, at least. It’s like a dog breeder using a picture of a pug to advertise a French bulldog, hoping no one notices.🤣
