My problem with my LED light is that it's been flickering, can't make it stop.

I've eliminated all potentials down to the dimmer switch and the driver.

Seems like dimmer switch.

Because my PPFD dropped from 1000 to 800 in the same spot, light feels weaker, will flicker back and forth from % power to slightly less, flickers in intensity, won't stay at full strength.

I was advised to clean the dimmer or put the dimmer in the sun, take it off, to dry it, determine for sure if it was moisture.

Just last month it was normal

Only used 3 months previously, 5 total.

Bought on Amazon in 2022, used in 2023, then just been resting, waiting to be used again this year.

she had a humidifier running in there, and both lights started doing this, one stopped after she turned the dehumidifier off but this light kept flickering...


My hunch is her dimmer knob's potentiometer has some condensation in it. Looks removable, but shes never taken one off before, and no two ive had separate the same way, but it has a waterproof barrel connector on the line, theres no reason for that unless the dimmer knob is removable.


my carambola light has a removable dimmer knob, and it just runs at 100% when its removed, but the waterproof barrel connector isnt the same as that one lol. my carambola dimmer threads off, but one of my no brand ebay panels is just press fit together, and comes apart with a "pop" lol. that light wont run at all without the dimmer hooked up though because the lights voltage runs through it directly. It isnt IC controlled like the carambola.


diagnostic difficulties for the fail lol. if it comes off, and still works, we can determine if its the driver or the dimmer.

yea, you probably grab that hex shape with an open face wrench that fits, then grab the other side of the barrel firmly with your hand. Lefty loosey righty tighty from there most likely.


i cant say for sure 100% without being there though lol. if thats not how it works that may damage something.

Chances are you back off a threaded cover, then the two cables "pop" apart. that good ole suction pop thats so cartoonish

my dad got sent off to Illinois for work and hes going to be gone til next spring. My brother is a bit of a deadbeat, and my sister and her husband both work full time. Mom has half of an entire mountain ridgeline to take care of on her own this season, as well as one super badass garden that will look like hell by fall if shes on her own.

less a visit, more an extended stay. My own garden, bed, Tv, and guitars came with me


Really im here, because if im not, shes going to make herself do something on her yard that she definitely shouldn't be. Her spine is held together by steel rods and a stubborn southern attitude. probably some gum n' duck tape in there too.
