Had the Fungus Gnats make their yearly appearance in force. Bought this at the Home Depot because they help Doers Get More Done and there is not a gnat in sight this morning. 🤩

You should be able to sex the older
Pb4 x haymeadow no problem by now btw. Mine are over a week younger and I've got em all separated now. Could see little preflower pistils as of today on my female, the two males showed about a week ago

Can't get a decent pic of the pistils yet, but they're there 🤙

PB4 gave me colas the size of my arm last year. Just as long, damn near as wide, she colas up pretty much branch tip to meristem. She was one of those rare plants where potency, yield, and qualities of the high all lined up amazingly. Shes not THE most potent, nor THE highest yielder, nor the BEST high. But she likes shaking sticks, and shes one of my only plants that checks every box there is to check. PB4 is a straight A student all around, structure, quality, yield, appearance. solid 3.5 gpa lol.

PB4 also much, MUCH preferred the real sun and the chaos of being outside to a grow light and a consistent tent too. My outdoor PB4 buds were pretty incredible tbh, i loved the smell, texture, appearance, burn quality, the whole package, but my indoor pb4 buds were just "ehhh, its pretty good, not bad for a daily smoke, wish it was easier to grind up, reminds me a bit of the old Jack, but not quite" lol. Wasnt disappointing indoors by any means, but as good as it was outdoors, i was actually expecting it to be a little danker than it was inside. Def an outdoor plant for sure.

Outdoors PB4 was on the heels of Banjo potency wise, and the yield for the space was STUPID lmao. Same age plant same size as banjo literally out yielded banjo by 3x. She washed for bubble better then banjo too, even though banjo blasts 2x as much BHO per gram of canopy bud. Similar to comparing wash and BHO return between an afghan kush and an OG kush. The og bubble washes poorly but gives more BHO on a blast lol.

one rip of outdoor pb4 and those resins just set into the lungs and it grabs ya too. Pb4 is def one of my all time favorite outdoor plants 100%. I doubt ill ever, for the rest of my life, have an outdoor grow that doesn't have something PB4 in it somewhere. Shes def the origin point for several outdoor specific lineages to come.

I at looked through the tent last night to see if I can see some sex.

Come on already 🤣

your about 2 weeks behind my girls i believe.

Your afghanica x haymeadow should sex very soon, especially the males.

The peaceblasters will show a bit later then those almost guaranteed. I uual;l;y start seeing sex week 6, and most are shown including females before week 10 is done. Usually by week 8-9

Theyre just tiny preflowers though, sometimes i have to bust out a loupe to determine.

Not always, but usually, plants showing preflowers, even if you cant tell what they are, week 6-7 are males, and plants showing week 8-10 tend to be females. Even my land race pure sativa female was showing preflower sex by week 12 i just couldnt tell what it was without a loupe lol.

The afghanica are slightly longer flowering wild plants though, they arent going to be your typical super tiny squat tinkered with afghan kush from a seedbank. They *should* be a little bit larger, a little more impressive to watch do their thing. Outdoors those plants are usually more like 5-6ft rather then 3-5. Still a LOT smaller then a sativa landrace but they are a little bigger and longer flowering then a typical seedbank afghan. But the afghan dominant haymeadow used showed sex by week 5 with a loupe, and it was indeed a squat little fatass that showed super early.

That male haymeadow i used last fall actually turned out to be the quickest flowering, fattest, most indica/afghan dominant pheno from all my haymeadow seed. It grew VERY nice glandular trichome coverage later into flower too, wasnt far off a female. Most thorough trichome coverage ive ever seen on a genetically male flower. The sugar trim from it dried and rolled up was sticky, and had a very nice buzz just like a true afghan male plant.. My pb2 x haymeadow male out there is frosting up too this spring and smells dank as shit. hes trying to reveg now though lmao.

I wanted to share these in case anyone was curious to see thermal images of grow pots inside versus outside.

once the plants are overhanging the pots its not going to matter much either way. When it was an issue for me i didnt have hose access i had to carry water to my containers lmao.

the biggest difference is just how much water you have to carry. I got an extra full day with tan bags. A lot more evaporates to keep the interior of the soil cool when the surface is black in direct sun and it limits the actual soil mass roots can easily access a little bit. Theres rapid swings in temp as the surface gets shaded and re lit throughout the day. the outher half inch to inch of soil might swing by 30-40F out where you are in a 24 hour period. In a bag this size that prob a couple gallons of soil the plant cant actually access or do anything with

Theyll do fine in dark bags tho lol, especially once the plant shades most the bag

Dude thats really badass! I was looking at my pots yesterday and wondering how hot they were getting in direct sunlight, thinking i should try and at least cover the soil with straw.

Can you break down the temps we’re seeing? The 129* was that something tagged earlier and it’s just the saved high? And the current temp of what you are looking at is up in the left?

Haven’t even looked this tool up as i know itll just make me sad hahahah!

For what I paid for it I get the full use out of it lmao. There’s a red target and a green target in each photo. The lower upper left temp is the difference between the high and low points. You take the colors and go against the bar graph on the right and it will tell you what the temp is in that area. It’s great for finding hot and cold spots.

So you are saying that you are hunting predators with that thing, that would qualify as full use in my book.
