Live at 2500’ in Northern California. I purchased two clones from grow shop April 25th, they started about 5” high. Just over 9 weeks later, 7 of which have been full-sun, they look healthy though shorter than I thought they’d be after 9 weeks. The smaller one is maybe 16 inches, larger one 20-ish inches. I’m also surprised with the lack of horizontal growth, branches pretty close to main stem.

Thoughts? Below is my timeline for soil, fertilizers and watering:

Weeks 1-2: hardening to outside sun
Weeks 3-6: transferred to 5 gallon nylon grow bag; used organic soil mix with 30% perlite; full sun
Weeks 7-9: transferred to 20 gallon grow bags; organic soil mix with 15% perlite and Foxfarm Marine Cuisine; auto watering each morning for 5 minutes.

Help!

When did you put them out full-time? Kind of looks like they are caught in the dreaded reveg limbo! You might have jumped the gun!😁 I am near red Bluff and I won’t put mine out full-time till June 1 to avoid that shit!

I'm sensing a theme this year. Should we start a club? 🤣

Your plants should be fine.

Yeah, it’s that time of year! The reveg time of year! It’s all over the place! The time of year when some hard lessons are learned! And I hope these guys keep posting so we can just see how fine their plants turn out! There’s a lot to be learned here!😍 in my opinion the only good reveg is the one that doesn’t happen!

Knowing better hasn't really helped me much so far. If I'm going with clones I hafta get em when I can get em. They go fast. I don't have a lot of room here for them to hang out for long.

Yeah, I’ve never messed with clones! All my reveging from four or five years ago was from seed! Trying to cheat mother nature by a month! I paid the price! The risk, reward, just isn’t there!

Put them out full time early May. Reveg to me means they think they flowered and are going back into vegetative, which seems opposite the problem I’m having, possibly them going too early into flowering. Am I missing something? Greatly appreciate clarity, and if they are flowering too early if adding grow lights will help

I’ve put some out in early May and about half of them flowered! Maybe more! It doesn’t take much to throw off their internal clock and they think it is fall and start flowering! You don’t want to see that in June! Your lights would only do you good to extend the hours of light up until that safety line, which in my case and a lot of people’s cases is June 1 . If you go outside permanently earlier than that, then you are rolling the dice! And the earlier out the riskier it is! These things are photoperiod and very sensitive to the hours of light and dark! Looks through the threads and you will see four or five people with the same problem! The one and three bladed leaves coming out of the top of your plant are indicative of a re-veg! Which is indicative of premature flowering! Like the plant changes its mind! And it takes a long time for these plants to change their mind! Lol

Early may after 2 weeks of acclimating them to full sun

What light cycle were you using before you put them outside?
I kept them on an approximate 18/6 cycle after buying the clones until I started acclimating them to the sun for 2 weeks where I removed any grow lights. Gradually exposed plants to full sun exposure, transplanted and whamo! Here we are. I am not sure if they are auto flowers as this was a hobbie grow

I’m not positive, but I don’t think you would be seeing that reveg action on autos! And I think they would’ve flowered long before now if they were autos! And nobody clones autos! And nothing you can do now except grow and watch! And hope for the best! The horse is out of the barn! Just don’t do it again!😂🍻 but please keep us posted and let us know what you think about reveged plants in a month or two! There is a lot to be learned here!

I made that mistake some years ago and tried to go ahead and grow them out! About late July and it was still a Mexican standoff! They were going fuck you! And I was going fuck you! But I got the last laugh! I blew them apart with a shotgun!😂🍻😈

That makes sense then. The timing is about right.

That looks like a lot of things. One of the things it looks like is wet
70L is a huge pile of dirt and can be difficult to judge a dry cycle. Add that to an auto water system that runs every day for the same amount of time and I would be checking every aspect of the watering. Does the auto water only do this plant? How much gets delivered in 5 minutes. Does the pot always weigh 8 kilos?
Just to rule it out.

On my blurry phone pic, I don’t see white hairs but things that look like male flowers in video.

What light cycle were you using before you put them outside?
Synchronizing light/dark cycles while the plants are inside with the sunlight/night outside is key, I think, but I discovered that it isn't as easy to do as it sounds. Where I live, our longest daylight period is slightly more than 16 hours at the summer solstice. So, I was going to match the tent light to the daylight. But then we had a period of warm, clear weather. So, I thought it would be okay to put them outside. It wasn't. My two autos flowered way too early when the weather changed to cold and wet and stayed that way for several weeks. Nevertheless, despite their small size and only flowering at three nodes, they look healthy. I'm going to let them go to harvest, thinking I'll at least get to sample the weed. I have one more seed and plant to grow it in a tent this fall.

If I try again next year, I'll try to be more self-disciplined, and both synchronize the light better and wait till the solstice to put them out. Till then, I'll ponder whether having them on a shorter light period while inside might be better. I might also start using longer dawn/dusk simulation. That's because I'm wondering if an abrupt change may have been a shock. Their tent had a half-hour transition, whereas natural dawn and dusk are much longer.

I learned the hard way to just go by the calendar!✌️ wouldn’t even consider trying to replicate the outdoor hours! First week of June, no more supplemental, and kick their asses out full-time! Never had a problem!😁🐒

Maybe. Sadly, the climate is becoming less predictable, and so the calendar isn't what it used to be. We must change with the times, I suppose. Like I said, I'll try to adjust my procedures next year.

By the way, my two outside plants have white spots like those in some other threads. They're only on lower leaves, so I'm going to leave them, for now. It doesn't seem to be spreading. I'm just wondering if they have something to do with the cold, wet weather we had for a few weeks.
