You're on to something there for sure... I've mentioned this before and worth mentioning why I target locked on the thinking. In my ninja travels, I got to know some technical folks in the pool industry who were trying to dial in the most energy efficient pool pumps,. From that research came the energy curve chart where they researched and found when you double the electricity you don't double the horsepower. You get less. And if you triple it, you get SIGNIFICANTLY less than triple. It's a diminishing return. The same principle applies to light diodes. Running your lights at lower power is going to give you more light for less electricity by stacking enough of them to get the light levels you need at reduced power.
As much as I'd like to tell you what drives my interest about it is that I care about the environment, it's not really the case. Fuck that. What I really care about is my wallet and my hard earned cashish.
