Thanks. Well that'd be the only synthetic added to mine. I use rain water almost exclusively, but if I'm low, my well water does not go thru a softener, or anything. pH is spot on, either way. Though I'm a bit high in iron from the well.
I've only used a gallon of miracle grow , since I planted them on mother's day.
I don't do anything to my water. It's just straight from the hose tap water. 😂😂

I typically prune off the bottom 1/3, in addition to keeping the center thin. Airflow is key. Don’t want any part to stagnate. Later in bloom, the plant will breathe better, stay drier, and hopefully eliminate mold, bud rot, and cozy places for pests.
I just pruned up the bottom of this northern lights clone today. I’m sure I’ll be taking some more as she grows. Don’t overdo it at once.

As I've been going through this thread, I've noticed many plants look pruned towards the bottom where you can see the stem. Is that something I need to do with this one?

Yeah you want to see what's going on down there. Allow the air to reach from the bottom. Plus it reduces the risk of diseases getting after your plants when water splashes up. Most of your flower will be on the top half of the plant anyway so direct the energy there.

Yes.

This is typical revegging (evident by the 3 bladed leaves) where the plant gets super bushy. And seeing that the grass is nice and green would think that either you get summer rain or water a fair amount. Either way it’s going to increase the humidity around the plant and be more susceptible to bud rot down the road. So opening up this plant with better air flow is real important.

Thanks for letting me know about the leaves. This was not something on my radar at all. Not quite sure I understand completely, but I'm trying to read up on it. I guess maybe I should try to determine if all 4 of these plants are in reveg?

Based on this ground level picture, would anyone advise me to prune anything visible? Would I be cutting the lower branches off at the stem? Or just cut leaves?

If I'm asking too many questions, I'm quite willing to read previous information? I was told to thin all of my plants, but I get the feeling the trimming I've done so far hasn't been adequate so far as quantity.

The way I do it is strip all the branches from the stalk outward to the tips only leaving the very tip and maybe two nodes under it. All those bud sites along those bottom branches will most likely be larf anyway. Everybody does it differently tho but the main thing is to open up the middle for better air flow

There’s no right or wrong way, i personally remove more than most people probably do, but in your picture here, I would definitely pinch off all of the small bud sites in the center, especially the bottom 1/3-1/2. They won’t amount to much anyway, except extra time in trim jail. However if you use it for oils, edibles, hash etc. you might want to not prune them.

As most know already these genetics are unknown. Germinated in mid March. Dropped (oops) and not in the best sun. My plan was to generate seed if I had a male. And I do have one. Well he is opening up now (see pic) and the girl I am going to use him on is obviously in early flower.

So here is my newb question for today. When would you gather pollen from him and supply it to her based on the pics attached. Now, next week, two weeks??? Once that's done I am going to destroy him and hope I get more seeds to play with.

If you’re looking for LOTS of seeds just let them both go ( probably have some pissed off neighbors if they’re growing too) 😂😂 if you’re just looking to pollinate a few buds I would cut off all the sacks other than the top bud and once that top bud looks like it about to bust cut it off stick it in a glass of water and collect pollen on foil or parchment paper and brush the buds you want seeded with a q tip or small paint brush. She’ll be ready for pollen when the pollen is ready

I just wonder if you’re pollinate a prematurely flowering plant and it goes into a reveg what will happen in terms of seed formation? If it is prematurely flowering, and it does go into a reveg. Keep some pollen around in case you get a chance to use it when it goes into a final flowering mode in August that is not a reveg. Just two cents!😁
