Heres afucked up factoid having to do with that wacky ol bill and the blue dress.
Did you know in epstiens manhatten mansion, as soon as you walked in, there was an interlocking stair case, and in between them, was a commisioned life sized portrait of bill in the dress?

True story,

Dafuq?!!?!!!
🤣

So hey man,
I went and yanked my baskets, cleaning, found some browning on my roots, i yanked all of it off the basket, ordered hydroguard, and cranked up the air a bunch.
Anything else i should do? More airflow in tent? Or let it ride until hydroguard gets here?
Sometimes they get stained from nutes. They should smell clean and fresh and a little earthy, not acrid or funky or sour. Dump the res wipe the buckets. The buckets shouldn't feel slimy. Reset with nutes and more air and monitor. If they continue to get worse, going scorched earth with a mild h2o2 flush prolly wouldn't hurt. (with 3% it's 15ml/gal. Flush separately for 1hr, never with nutes, then dump that and reset w/ fresh batch).

I don't have that problem in my setup bc I flush every 7 days to prevent salt buildup in the slabs, this also prevents deficiencies and burns bc you're effectively starting brand new once per week. In dwc there is nothing to really flush, but I personally would still do it everyday 14 days anyhow bc I'm anal. If I start at say 100ppm (bc of your tap water), you should come in close to that after flush. I flush at zero ppm's and usually end up @ 200-250 ppm's, that I dump, then start a fresh batch of nutes.

Not a ton, and the plants fine as im sure you know. Its a littke droopy now, its lights out timeish and i just upped the lights to 35% yesterday.

@FloridaMike
Hmmm, that could be normal staining from the nutes. How do they smell and feel?

A closer look,
There is def a little bit of black creeping in.
Thats really what made me snag that chunk.
I caught it early i figured snag a bit outside the questionable spot to nip it.
I cut root balls in half from time to time when i repot if its bound so i knew it wouldnt really matter if i snagged it.
A little slimy,
Not really a smell yet.
Shell be ok i think.
Other root in the same solution is still white
I figured pro active mixed with some reactive.
I hope im not kidding myself.

Copy that

2 hours past lights out and im finally done getting rid of the old burnt up soil that was left in about 20 of them pots, had to get it done, there was some ph tox creeping up a few on the lowers. So i lit a fire under my ass and repotted them. My house has 7.5 to 8 ph on the regular out of the tap so it was quite necessary.
After reusing that dirt for 2 years. I can say with confidence. The dirt was finally out of buffers. Glad to see it all gone now.
So ill water feed the lot i just repotted the next week and start ramping in nutes again.

So canadian peat.
Two years is fucking incredible.
Thanks canada.
Your my fwend, buddy,
Yeah youre my buddy, guy.
Was a loooooong test to find its limitations.
Alls it needed was some perlite 2 or so runs ago, its been real.

Whatever yall have going on up there is a fucking magical, “strange brew” in your forests. Moose poo?
Could be……

See what i did there eh? Hosers.
🇨🇦🍁🫎

Oh extra hours of light in veg?
No big deal.
Its less light or intermitancy thatll screw the moose.
👊🏻🤡

Yeah, that looks a little worse than in the blurry 1st pic.
The hydrogaurd and increased o2 should take care of it.
Be sure & use an oversized pump and good quality fine bubble stones.
*You cannot give them too much o2, especially in warmer temperatures
No h2o2 yet as it will also kill the beneficials in the hg as well.

*from chat:
  • Roots love oxygen — it fuels aerobic respiration, which gives them energy to absorb nutrients and grow.
  • In deep water culture (DWC), more dissolved oxygen (DO) = faster growth, stronger roots, and less chance of root rot.
  • Even at high levels (10–12 ppm DO), no harm is done — it just keeps things fresher.

If thats the case i eill keep it set where it is now for flower,
Plants will be taller by then the lights will be turned up so I’ll be sure to tow that line and the dissolved oxygen thing I got you there. I’ll just make sure to keep my air stones good and clean so they’re breathing well. Pump is def up to the task for only 2 buckets though, if i was running 4 id def upgrade.
