THE TRAINWRECK. Brought to you by thcfarrmer…..

Well, my one fetish is fans. Wife thinks I'm nuts. Last year I had four or five different types coming in to check out. I've even brought in fans that were thrown out at work to try out. 😂 These may be the end game for me. Maybe. What about the famous...

I remember if we wanted to find out if there were waves to catch today we either called the HB lifeguard service daily recording or we had to listen to Rockin' Fig do the morning surf report on KROQ. Became friends with Fig, he was a good dude. May he rest in peace.

The greatest thing to ever happen with surf forecasting was Sean Collins starting the Surfline. No more calls to the lifeguard service, no listening to Fig, just log on and check the surf cams!

Edit: Forgot to mention the traditional PITA though. Get up off your ass at the crack of butt and go check your normal break.
KROQ Rock of the 80's🥰
I loved Seal Beach. Shallower and a lot warmer but there were days I just had to check out HB. Double sets at times. Madness🤣 Saw Captain Beefheart at the Golden Bear only because he and Frank collaborated once upon a time. It was a strange show but the Mickey Mouse Wizard blotter was kickin😉

What about the famous Dyson bladeless?

Seal Beach!!!!? I am out of town right now but will try and remember to upload a pic of my "Ray Bay Surf Club" tee shirt!!! If you spent any amount of time splashing around there, you know why I have it. I had a buddy who was a well known local at Rivermouth. Unfortunately with his passing the Ray Bay logo and meaning may wind up getting lost and forgotten.

For the rest of you who may not know, Seal Beach is notorious for the stingrays that congregate in the shallow water at the river mouth. If you spend any amount of time surfing there you're gonna get stung, and if you're a local there and Tony or Ed heard about it, they'd give you one of those tee shirts. Got stung again? Here, you earned another tee shirt! My buddy that started the tradion had been stung 10 times there over the years.

My first memory of the beach was 1965ish my old man took me to Seal, no parking lot and few homes, just parked on PCH and you were at the beach. Mid 1980's I lived on 5th St 2 blocks from the beach, 5 blocks from the pier. Never got stung but seen a few who did. We knew better to surf or play along the river, Bull Sharks too. Also the stingray is a prime food source for young (7-9') Great Whites🤣 We would get Jellyfish from time to time but that was the worst of it and only a few times a year. Fishing was usually great off the sand or the Pier, warmer water brought in all kinds of fish and squid. That was 40 years ago and though I miss it I don't miss the serious wet/cold 9 months out of the year🤣

Good morning farm!
