There's nothing I can do to lower the humidity besides adding heat. I'm at the mercy of mother nature just like an outdoor grower. Other than that I'm counting on the silica and UVb.

Dr Bruce Bugby (my hero!) says silica is the most effective preventative measure against PM (besides low rh) and I'm testing my own theory running the UVb in the dark in an attempt to kill any spores. Bud rot needs condensation so staying far away from the dewpoint with good air circulation should be enough.

There's a good chance it will all come crashing down in the next month but I'm optimistic anyway. I've been growing weed longer than coco coir has, before tents and led lights and VPD. I've seen some shit shows grow amazing flowers and "perfect" rooms fail miserably. Sometimes it just boils down to dumb luck mixed with a little skill.

Hitting the home stretch now so we'll all find out soon enough ๐Ÿ’š

Is the silica used in the water? Or a treatment spray?

Actually I would go out on a limb and say if you're trying to avoid mold and moisture it's probably best not to spray them with anything if you can avoid it. Especially because they always say to spray before lights out. 30 years growing and I've never foliar fed a plant once.

Yeah that makes sense. Glad i havent had to mess with that stuff at yet. I know its around, i have it on my pumpkins out front, im anticipating it making its way to the backyard outdoor later in the season.

Look into it though bear water I just started using it in my vegging plants once in a while and definitely beefs up them stems. Pretty cheap and a good thing to add into your feed regimen. If youโ€™re into that type of thing lol
Itโ€™s on the list for sure, just havent pulled the trigger yet! Im totally into that type of thing though. would love to work it into the program : )

Day 30 since I flipped the lights. The two sherbs are beautiful and the F-Bomb f2 looks sad. Everybody got a trim and some fresh air this morning. ๐Ÿ’š

Kitty got another snack but she only eats the youngest leaves and larf, she doesn't touch the older fans ๐Ÿ˜ป

This kratky experiment is done. She looks like shit. The water smells like rotten eggs. This is as far as she got. Straight in the bin. Can't have a sick little experiment jeopardize the rest. If the circumstances were different I would move her in the house and fix her up but not this time unfortunately.

The other two jars are upstairs in my "drying tent" ๐Ÿ˜† Im about to take a few more cuts off them for the next round since their parents are doing so well in the heat. That's gonna start in mid August and be done by early December. Then a round of Mephisto canna cheese autos which I plan to reverse. Those should make a great winter crop outside because I can run the lights for heat as long as I want.

It's 93ยฐ in the dark in the tent and every day they look great. Maybe the positive diff in temp is helping in some mysterious way idk.

These are the kratky jars I'm taking the cuttings from. They're under like 10watt desk lamps. The small jar gets filled once a week. This is the first top off for the big jar. I forgot how long it's been, two weeks maybe more?

The new recipe for the rez per gallon:

1/2 tsp silica
1 tsp micro
1/4 tsp grow
1.5 tsp bloom
2 tsp diamond nectar
1 tsp floralicious

850 ppm at 6.0 pH

Sherb flowers look great. Even the F-Bombe is looking better. 4 weeks to go to survive this heat and humidity. ๐Ÿ’š

Cruising along in week 6, day 38 of flower. Found a few leaf hoppers on the F-Bombe closest to the intake and tent door. Removed what I could find and will monitor the situation going forward. Considering where I put my tent I'm pleasantly surprised there hasn't been more of a bug problem and it's a good reminder not to get lazy about IPM.

You can smell the plants ten feet away from the shed and I'm sure every bug in the neighborhood is like "oh shit, lemme get some of that!"

This grow was always going to be more about getting over the finish line anyway so hopefully we can avoid any serious detours for the next month.

I couldn't find anymore leaf hoppers but I found some spider mites instead. With 3 weeks to go the timing is pretty awful. It was one lower branch again by the intake fan so they're obviously just blowing in. I will manually remove leaves and shop vac the rest as much as I can until harvest.

I also probably cut back the feed level a little too soon because there was an immediate N fade on all the sherbet fan leaves. Im on the fence whether to boost it back up for a week or stay where I am. The silica will definitely go back to full strength because of the bugs though.

106ยฐ in the shed again and 93ยฐ in the tent. Flowers look good on the sherbs and meh on the F-Bombe. I only found two more bottom leaves with leaf hoppers on them and I adjusted the vent to blow more away from the plants.

I decided against increasing the food level so the new rez today is just under 600. It's $40 to replace the probe in my pen and I'm really cheap so I'm still using the drops to measure pH and not gonna lie I really like it.
