I wonder how the snail got out on that lily pad! I didn’t know they could swim!

I always grow out the runts but I also have a very hard time killing plants. Unless they’re done flowering of course 😂
i usually wait until 2 weeks before harvest before i kill mine...lol Im leaving these ones well alone, Ive thrown the PK in the bin and I am only reacting to what the plant tells me , rather than thinking 'i'll just give it a bit more'
the 3rd one grew as well but it only gets about 8hrs of sun where it is.
Me too! And outdoors more often than not, they will catch up and do you right! A runt is often the fault of the grower, but they will never admit it!😂🍻
ok i didnt mean runt as in genetics , i mean failed germination . my germination method is chaotic at best , i put 8 seeds in soil and hope for 4 , then i mix up all my labels , especially during repotting so i dont know what is what .

I love ponds

Even indoors the runts sometimes become the best of the bunch.
I think you're right, i checked it this morning and its thriving...the roots were coming out the bottom of that small plastic pot so i took the risk and repotted it (just as its going into flower) ! into some soil with added npk, i noticed as well the roots were thick , healthy and filled the pot...whereas the roots of my GG4 are tiny, hairlike and never reach the bottom of the pot , (pic)
ive had to cull the GG4 because of bud rot, the middles of the buds were wet with water , i am assuming because i cut off all the fan leaves it couldnt transpire.

Those look like some healthy roots though! The roots in my pots seem to prefer the top third of the pot! I think they get a lot more oxygen and quicker dry back towards the top!😁 when you’re using your size pot the roots will probably fill the whole thing anyway!

thats why i had to change it , it was ridiculously small .
the last 4 plants i have almost grown have all had super fine roots which dont reach the bottom, and i would imagine dont suck up all the nutrients causing my nutrient issues late in flower..... they obviously like a couple of periods of drying right out . i should take my own advice and read the leaves, water when they droop.

When I was in tiny pots and feeding during the grow, I would have all kinds of problems! When I upsized to larger pots and started reamending soil during the winter and not feeding at all during the grow, it became 200% easier!😁✌️ and I don’t get too caught up in the roots other than keeping them happy! They’re gonna grow where they wanna grow! The plant knows what it needs!

I nearly threw this away about 3 months ago now its about 2 weeks into bud , i bought it indoors to get it under 12 hrs of light , its about 3 months old but the first 4 weeks were very slow.

Thought i would do an update on my 3 seedlings (photos) which didnt take off , i bought one inside 4 weeks ago and put it under 12/12, thats the best one so far. the other two are still going and they have just gone into bud but there is no way i am going to get to the end of oct without some cold wet weather. i ve got one under a clear cover which might save it .
Ive just been giving them a seaweed based organic feed but the ones outside are growing in pretty bad soil, basically sandy/stoney builders soil , with about 4 inches of soil on top from previous grows... at least its well draining i guess.

the nights have turned cold here, last night the soil went down to 10 oC so i have bought my plant by the pond, a fleece jacket, its suprised me and spread out nice and has been in flower for about 4 weeks, so it would be nice to get it to the end . Im hoping the cold will give me some purple colour,
I spent ages holding branches together and sliding this bag over the plant, then i found it had a zip down the side . doh.
