I’ve sprayed a couple times. And I was doing the water sprays. Time to get going with it though!

How is your battle with them going? I’m optimistic about mine😃💪🏻🌫️
I haven’t seen too much action on the plants themselves. I mean I see bugs around, we have a shit ton of japanese beetles in the yard. But the plants look okay. Little bit of leaf damage from watering in the sun but they’re okay.

Just.

Really small.

😭

But! Before I left for work we had an afghani and a cherry punch peekabooing 🤞

Mites are a bitch tho! I’ve been spraying dead bug brew once a week for like three weeks now because the only growing hurdle I allow is myself
You’re suppose to limit applications of Spinosad to no more than 6 times a year. So repeated use early in the grow isn’t a good idea. When you’re in veg it’s safe to use oils and you can save Dead Bug Brew for later in the year.

Info on oils for mites:

Recipe for making a spray:

Ingredients (For 1 Gallon):

IngredientAmountNotes
Soybean Oil1 tbsp (0.5 oz)Suffocates mites
Isopropyl Alcohol (70%)2 tbsp (1 oz)Quick knockdown
Peppermint Castile Soap1 tspEmulsifier & repellent
Citric Acid*1/16 tspHelps balance pH
Aloe Vera 200x Powder*1/8–1/4 tspFoliar soother, nutrient carrier
WaterFill to 1 gallonUse distilled or clean tap

*optional

Oh no shit? Haven’t heard that, just to spread the application out at least a week in between. What’s the reasoning for limiting application?

Thanks for the recipe as well.

This one's been going since second week of may ,I decided to let this plant do it's own thing so no topping , training etc and so far haven't given any nutrients but once in flower I will start feeding,
This is my first outside grow here in blighty.

What do you think

Looks great best to have at least 15gal for smaller photos. I don't see any stress on that plant but we've got a ways to go yet on outdoor and you want to keep those roots happy.
I've got a bigger pot but worried transferring her will harm her ? And what nutrients would you recommend?

I use neem oil. Foliage spray. Underneath the leaves and on top. Unfortunately most eggs and such are under the leaves. I also spray about a 1 foot radius around the bottom of the plant.
Lady bugs and a few others are great to help with aphids and mites. There is no cut off with amount of neem oil. I just won’t spray buds.

The primary reason is that the mites (or other pest) can develop resistance pretty quickly. I’ve used various brands and all have a limitation (of 6 applications) per crop cycle in the instructions. I save it for the borg and don’t waste uses on thrips, leaf miners, or aphids as in my area these pest are much easier to knock down. Spinosad is also highly toxic to bees and other pollinators if they’re exposed to wet residues, so like oils, best to do in the evening. (And then you get bud rot 😀)

Neem works good but it’s a lot more expensive than soybean oil and if you have a number of large plants you can really burn through it quickly. The soybean oil is really cheap and easier to source. (Granted the cheaper brands aren’t organic & almost assuredly GMO.)

I guess I should put the first pic in the bugs thread?

Do we have a weed and cats thread? Cattabis?

Looks like you could use a little hot wire, action yourself! That would cure them real quick! Scratch that! I think you’ve got toddlers! It would cure them real quick too! Probably wouldn’t do very much for, harmony on the homefront, though!
