Growing some old school genetics (Sensi Star by Paradise Seeds)

What’s up grow bros?! Haven’t posted on here in a while and wanted to share my current grow of 2 Sensi Star ladies. Sensi Star was the first headies I smoked when I was a kid and I always wanted to grow some out. Ordered the seeds from a seed bank in Amsterdam. Yesterday marked the beginning of week 2. Currently have them in Fox Farm Happy Frog and watering with plain ole water. I can give ya’ll other specs of my grow if you’re interested at any time. Check it>>>>

Week 2….done

The Sensi Star girls are going strong…think they’ll be ready for 5 gallon pots next week, definitely the week after. Very tight nodal spacing on these with them being 90% Indica dominant. SS #2 (on the left) has super wide leaves….reminds me of a mutant or something check it>>>

Week 3 in the books and the ladies are starting to pick up the pace. You can really see the difference in both phenos leaf structure becoming more pronounced. If everything works out with my schedule I plan on transplanting them into 5 gallon fabric pots on Thursday with a 1:1 ratio of FFHF and FFOF. Also plan on starting to lower the humidity and intensify my grow light slowly over the next week to 2 weeks. Some training is on the horizon as well.

Thanks brotha…grew a sativa last run so figured I’d go with an indica this time and Sensi Star has been on my list of strains I’ve wanted to grow out for a while.

Week 4….finished

Transplanted the Sensi girls Thursday…they were starting to show signs of being root bound (drooping). They had/have a beautiful healthy root system which was great to see during the transplant. Took less than 48 hours for them to recover and have already gotten bigger…these plants are vigourous!!! Thinking I may start LST on them this week and possibly top as well. Hell yea, thanks for hanging out. Love the old school genetics….from the way it looks to the way it smells and tastes. Just picked up some Sour D x Sensi Star BC1 seeds from Cricket and Cicadas seeds, read it’s different from Deathstar and leans more on the sour d side….maybe I’ll pop those next run

Nice!! Everything on their Instagram looks like fire. Out of curiosity…what was the percentage of male to female in your pack?

I didn’t pop the whole pack think I popped 4 and got one female and 2 males that reeked of some old school pine buds and 1 other male. I kept some pollen from the 2 piney ones so I’ll be making more seeds with it at some point

Week 5

The Sensi girls are cruzing!! Decided to start LST on both and did a little defol Thursday…they both responded great. Started to brighten my light slowly as well. Thinking about 5 more weeks of veg then it’ll be time to flip

Hey Growmies

Saturday marked the end of week 6 and the Sensi ladies are booming. Plan on doing a defol/lollipop soon to open them up a little bit. Extremely tight and bushy

Have my light at 70% power and between 18-20 inches away from the canopy, I plan on keeping it there till flower. Humidity has been at 60% with temps between 75f and 79f.Ive been watering every 2-3 days with recharge every other watering and some big foot mycorrhizae every other week. Have about 2 weeks until the Fox Farms soil is depleted and then I’ll be switching over to Advanced Nutrients pH perfect feeding regiment.

I guess my grows aren’t as scientific as others…I don’t use a lot of meters and such…I just pay attention the what the plants needs, it works for me

It’s been about 2 weeks since my last post and tomorrow will be the end of week 10 for the Sensi girls. Was hoping to start flowering this upcoming week but had a cal mag deficiency towards the end of week 8. They’re back on track now and I plan to flip next weekend. Check it>>

It’s breaks my heart and makes me sweat bullets but sometimes for the sake of a good harvest you gotta do what you gotta do. Went pretty hard on the Sensi girls last night…..defoliation, lolipopped, LST, and super cropped. They’ve already perked up from last night which is a good sign…tomorrow they get a good dosage of recharge, flipping this upcoming monday!!
