They only operated in a few states but there was a big warehouse store called Fry's Electronics that had aisles and aisles of everything from components to whole systems. Wife hated when I went there because I always wound up spending a crap load of money.

Before Fry's, there were the computer swap meets! I used to go almost every weekend.

That's a great collection there. Also really a great way to make money with cheap exchange rates - kind of a gamble like stocks.

I only have one moderately valuable coin. Would go for around 180-200 bucks. Some Hungarian silver coin from 1782

So wife calls. She is over heating
I go outside open the trailer, roll out my tools.
She makes the turn headed towards the house. The car has a buuunch of puke coming out from the cooling system.
I recoil as i ask “what did you run over”
She doesnt take kindly to driving critisim,
And she says “well i may have pulled to far into a parking block.”
I think, “wow, she upped it, just like that?”
So i go to look under the car, return hose for the radiator, ripped open
The bottom cradle for the radiator, it gone. The sensor rack for the cooling system, gone, oh but what this? Hey at least the three sensors are still here hanging in the wind.
Thats a bonus.
Guess thats how she knew she was over heating. The main sensor was wrapped around that split hose i was talking about. The other two are for the cooling fans.
We dont put a ton of miles on our cars, and when we got this thing, it came with a full documentation of its work logs.
Didnt need to service the cooling system for another 11k. I take the raditor out, and what the fuck do you know, its fucking full of dex cool

Not orange drink you dipshit mechanic whoever the fuck you are. So i flush the top wnd of the cooling sytem out and start catching all the bs that corroded. I was fucked up shit all told. Think watered down pasta gravy.
So i put on the new radiator fill it with some gunk remover, bc the car still has some of the dex cool in the block. And the heater core. Gotta get that out too before it get the 9-10 quarts of g40. Heres the bonus
Entire rocker plate is gone, and so are the mounts for a new one, so i fabricate a new one and fuck with that alllllll fucking day trying to figure out how the fuck im protect the bottom end from “the wrath”

I wasted 2 pieces of quality sheet metal until i figured, fuck it, im backing some of the bolts out from some questionable spots. and using those the mount the plate off the driving components. There was no other way.

While i was under there, my wandering eye catches the driver side inner wheel, looks like she rode that car down a high curb with the wheel cut hard left for a mile.
That or wolverine went “SNIKT”
And got to have a bit of fun.



So moral of the story.
Stop short
You never know when youll hit a mile long parking block that rips the front end of your car to shreds.
Its like she thinks i dont have eyes. Let alone a brain attached to them
