I started smoking in 1968... Wow I'm old lol. Last year finally decided to grow some myself. I bought 2 plants & it all went pretty well. I couldn't find much info on anyone growing in the extreme temps we have in our area. 1 was a Haze of some sort, and I've loved it so much that I have not been back to a dispensary since. The other plant wasn't as good... To my liking, so I've given most of it away.
This year I was given seeds & planted about 12. Kush OG, African & God Father.
I've got 5 plants going. I started the seeds in solo cups outdoors, on 4/20/25.
The 1 Kush has been kinda finicky. Doesn't seem to like much nutrients & seems to have a bad reaction when I've given it worm casting tea. Strange.
We hit 107 one day last week, the plants are very thirsty!! Our temps are steady at nothing less than 100-105 degrees now. LoL. I'm doing the best I can to grow my medicine where I live. :-)
1st pic is of all plants in a row. Front 1 is one of the "African".

It's been wonky pretty much the whole time. Finicky I'm calling her lol

This one.. The only Kush left. Her brother was kicked to the curb, July 27th. Anyway 'sister Kush' Acts up every week when I feed Recharge. I'm using the grow dots & recharge this year. Wondering if I'm needing to go lower on the dose each week for sister Kush. I'm sure some of you will know what this gals problem is. Haha :)💚

Man that plant looks 1/2 baked and 6wks more to go at least. Are you watering well and feeding?
It's been wonky the whole time. This Kush OG has reactions everytime I feed it. It did not like worm casting tea. We've gotten up to 107 but it only looks like this on one side. Hoping the temps are going down now..100 yesterday. I have to water daily. Feeding recharge 1x a week (grow dots in soil). Thanks for your response Galgrows.
I didn't think my dairy was getting seen lol

✌️ Aww man that's rough enviornment. Yes we've been in the 100's for 2 weeks watered 2xdaily. I'm hopeing for preflower to happen soon cause of weather in the fall here in Oregon. Best of luck to you down the line and maybe you can find some shade for it to sit in and repair itself? Course the leafs are goners don't pick them off till they droop or get dried out. Lots of folks see your posts

Thank you! Imma 98 lb older than dirt Granny lol... TY, yes last year I had to move the plants to shade mid day. I'll have to baby this 1 big time, since it's my only Kush. The other 2 strains are doing better than this one. Last year I defoliated massive, haha. But this time I'm letting the leaves stay since I've learned more. 2nd grow is more difficult than 1st one was, lol. It seems like fall is coming early this year. It was 70 this am! May your harvest be blessed 💚Thanks for your time & input!

First time I’ve seen it! Sativa’s are delicate anyway! But I think your pots are way too small! It’s hard to control the root zone in pot that small! Things get thrown off way too easy! Just two cents!
Well dang, so you didn't see the god father plants either? I'm not very techy. Haha. Ooooh ... I didn't think about the pot size. This is what our grow store offers here. So, I shouldn't try to re-pot, up-pot now, tho, right? Shaking at the thought.. Lol
Hey your 2 cents are like gold coins to me :) 🌿💚

No, probably a little too late! Probably just have to keep stringing them along! And hope the cool weather helps eventually! In my experience, growing in a hot hell hole, larger pots with well aerated soil are truly the answer!✌️ and I think the RH is a lot more important than the temperature! They can handle some heat if it is dry heat! You can add their moisture!

Thanks man! I will plant next year in Bigger pots, for sure👊
We had a storm blow thru Mon night & it blew hard. Broke a branch on the Kush. Taped & tied it up. Happy for the full rain barrels, Whoot. I'm using RO water & rain water when I get it. Just hoping to grow some medicine for hubby & I. So I can stay away from dispensary pesticide weed. Last year I had allergic reactions to their gummies. No Bueno. LoL (hubb's a cowboy and doesn't smoke but he loves the cookies haha)
Might be a dumb ? ... But what is RH. Forgive me, not wanting to be a pest💚

My 2 Africans
They look pretty good! Relative humidity! I hate all humidity in the air! Glad you survived the storm! But I think you could do better! If you’re gonna put six months into this, you might as well go for the gusto! Get them ready to handle weather with weight on them! I’ll take some pictures of mine tomorrow morning and post them over on my thing! An example of what can be achieved even by a dumb ass like me! Lol! But we both have a long way to go! You have the rougher path! Your weather can be kind of inconsistent! Influenced by the monsoonal, moisture and weather that comes up from Mexico way! I don’t have to deal with that!

Well i got about 20lbs on ya LOL i'm a old dirt granny also. My Mom was Italian born in Pueblo Co. used to visit in summer yep hotter than hell. My Mom's folks were farmers there. Anytime you need help just hit me up maybe i'll have the answer for ya LOL

Here's a couple pics of my current grow. I take clones off my indoor grow i had during winter/spring so i got 4 clones small bushy ones and 3 others from seed plus a couple of crappy autos that hate me LOL. I only have photoperiods in 15gal pots. Today it's only 85f which is great. It's hard on them in the heat in small containers but i don't grow inground anymore i can't deal with them like i could 30yrs ago. So i get these smaller indica leaning ones. RH means realitive humidity.

Yeah, same here! You will never be a pest! Feel free to DM if you want! Just good to see another hot weather grower that also has the guts to try a few different strains! Gal knows her shit! For an Oregonian!😂🍻
