I noticed some yellowing of a few fan leaves on my plant (see pic) so figured out it was magnesium deficiency. I have fed with pure magnesium sulphate and (it’s hard to tell but) I don’t think the problem is worsening. My question is: when the plant has the right amount of magnesium. Will the yellowed leaves go back to green or is it permanent? Many thanks!

ps root fed with mag. No foliage feeding.

Not 100% certain of this, but I believe that yellowing on older foliage will never revert back to green, while yellowing on new growth can be recovered back to a green state.

Thanks Cosmic. I picked up a hint on another thread that the leaves don’t turn back. I’m going for remove all the yellowed ones and then see what happens before I put more magnesium on.

Leave a few of the yellowing leaves on so you can monitor them. Best to monitor already affected leaves than to wait to see if it starts affecting other healthy foliage. Once you notice the progression stop, then remove the affected leaves.

unfortunately we are getting more and more yellowing leaves. I’ve fed regularly with magnesium. Do I need to just up the dosage? It’s a big plant (2.5m high and 2.5m wide with thinned out foliage). What dosage should I use?
