Any idea what the brown deposit is? There are several on the plant in similar areas of the stems. It is a dry granular texture that wipes off easily.

I don't know what the brown stuff is, but I wouldn't want it on my plants. I suspect insect activity. The white spots on the leaves tell me that, too. The plant is starting to bud, so it would be best to deal with it immediately. There are many treatments available. My favorite is AgroMagen GrowSafe, but you'll get lots of recommendations here on the forum. I'd start by cutting off that leaf with the white spots and looking at them with magnification to figure out what they are. That would help. They might be thrips.

Do you have any trees around? I thought i had caterpillar poop on some of my buds last week. Looked everywhere and found nothing. What i think it is, is i have a tree that drops those little worm looking cat tail things that break up into smaller looking little bits of whatever! Im with LGI though with getting on some sort of pest management asap! : ) plants are looking great! good luck man! ✌️

Not sure where your located on East coast that signs of bore worms remove the fass an se if you see a little whole

I used to find these in corn stalks. I split the stalks and used them for fishing bait.

Don't know what kills them. They dig in and cacoon themselves inside.

Easiest way if you know where it is slice the stem kill him duck tape around slice or other way cut off the branch right below it an safe the rest of the plant I can dig up old cancoction that worked

Usually where the stem is swollen is where it's at like so but have much luck with slice kill an duct tape method better to get rid of it fast an be prepared they still the 2nd generations flying an laying larve

I went through the plants cut out all the areas where I saw the fass and swollen stems. Didn’t lose too much but cried a little while I was doing it, lol. The picture you posted of the larvae was exactly what I found inside the stems. What would you recommend to use for any eggs or second generation boreworms that might hatch? Is there a good spray I can get quick? I haven’t seen any moths flying around but I’m sure this isn’t the end of it…
