Hey all. New to this. Plants on the right have very developed buds. Trimmed off a considerable amount of interior fan leaves. At this poin, should exterior fan leaves be off as well? Plants on the right are abiut 1 foot taller. Topped 1 less time. Just starting to get hairs at nodes. Trimmed some of the interior leaves there. Sound righ? Appreciate input.

Thanks!

She still has a way to go from other outside grows. At this point pm and bugs are a lower threat and it still has some growing. Unless you have very still air with high temps most folks let it run.
Nice plants.😎

Well i do it differently even though i'm in a dry/hot enviornment for 4 months and i get breeze everyday. I grow more indica leaning photoperiods cause i like them shorter than 6ft easy for me to care for. Freaks me out seeing very dense leaves during the later part of flowering like on your bigger cola plant. Unless you just want the very tops of the plant i guess i'd leave it. But i do remove alot of leaves and inner stems that won't get any light. Mainly for air flow. PM powdery mildew creeps up quickly and if you can't see it you could loose 1/2 the plant to rot if left untreated.

I've got 7 outside 4ft to abit over 6ft cause i did'nt top any. Now is the time moths lay there eggs in the buds. If you see brown rot in buds most likely cause by catipillars hatched from those eggs. So yes i like to defoliate my plants and i trim out 8" under them near the soil. Good luck

Trimmed some of the interior leaves there. Sound right? Appreciate input.
Sounds right, except I'd clear out the bottoms like @Galgrows recommended. When I prune, I mostly just do what I think looks good. I usually do most of it before flowering begins. They don't grow many new leaves during flowering.

On those branches all setting up to have colas dancing on them. Further in and closer to the stalk you probably have some smaller auxiliary branches in there. The ones you can tell aren't going to poke through with the other tops and get it's own spot of real estate under direct sun, you can pinch those off and let the plant put more energy into the colas. Or you can leave them and use for more harvestable plant material. Personal choice but if you decide to keep it, keep an eye on that undergrowth because that's where herming tends to pop up.
