When I have big pop can buds I break them down and dry them in the baskets with the big fan and dehuey going. I’ve lost quite a bit hanging branches to boytritis over the years. I’ve learned the hard way
I usually wet trim my big colas and keep them closest to the air. They usually hang there a few more days than the cotton ball sized buds

Update on the exhiled Dutch Treat. Removed the support poles/netting because I thought she was toast and then she flopped over. Let her stay that way a few days and washed her off with the watering can every day. Like a heavy dowsing. I have her upright again and half-assed supported with scrap bits of string, then did some heavy defoliation. She appears to be aphid-free atm. I think I will let her finish out where she's at and see what I can get.

Well I finished erecting my rain tarp supports and hopefully I don’t need to use it much this summer and early fall. Glad I kept unused 1.25”x10’ pvc and 3/4” pvc conduit. But if so I’m ready to cover Ms. Chunky Skunk with a 10’x10’x 6 mil thick semi-clear plastic sheet with tie downs (TBD). 10-day weather forecast looks good. Ms. Skunk XL is staked and string-supported so I’ll be keeping my eyes on her too.

I had a fan pointed at them directly for 12 hours to make sure all the water from the wash was gone. Now the fan in underneath them blowing to the side, so nothing directly on the buds, but hopefully still circulating the air.

Typically I would dry in my tent, but I have another plant in there still.
yeah that sounds good! I’d just be really concerned about the inside of those big buds. Sorry to be a worry wart over it! Just dont want you do run into problems in a week! : ) ✌️

I’m just hoping that we won’t have much rain until November.its been very dry here all summer so let’s keep it rolling.

A flat roof can be problematic as the water will pool up and get trapped. It’s amazing how heavy the trapped water will get and can pull down the structure (or rip the tarp off the poles). So if you have to cover, it’s best to poke some drain holes in your plastic sheet. Better to have some controlled water dripping through then having a deluge. If you want to be fancy you can hang a funnel under your drain holes and pipe/tube the water to the best location.

Thx. I’m way ahead of you. I have an extension pole from old tree trimmer that I’ll mount a tennis ball on the end. When the tarp is up I’ll use the pole and ball to make a high point that will force the water to drain effectively away from the plant. I’ll take pics when it’s up (hopefully never).

Nailed it! 🤩💪✌️

Well, not way ahead, you can see my middle poles from years ago. 😀 It was ineffective along the tarp connection at the top pvc. I wasn’t able to keep the plastic taut enough (going down the sides) and it still trapped water. I had to go out in the middle of the night and poke the tarp to release the trapped water. So keep a poking pole handy! Could be my center pole didn’t create a steep enough angle, but it was really hard not to get some pooling, which would snowball into lots of pooling. Eventually I moved to the hoop house design which sheds water better. Good luck!

Thx for the heads up on the middle pole and securing sides. I’ve got lots of attachment points and securing methods to employ if needed and I’ll let y’all know how it goes. This plant is sooooo skunky and beefy, she’s definitely worth all the attention I can give.

Just keep a sleeping bag and a cooler of beer in your “tent” and you’ll be fine. 😀

I will admit I am a bit concerned and I would hate to lose premium bud to mold. I made the mistake of watering my plant the day before I chopped it and when I feel the large buds you can tell there is alot of moisture in them. Really squishy. Not sure if I should break them down or not.
