Apple fritter is the second sprout in 70% perlite, 30% vermiculite and a little water, 24h to taproot. Set up in a shot glass and slow poured right into the pocket, slot #3 finally filled. I think I like this method.

Both crock pots will run till morning

6 quarts of tomatoes in there (yes from the garden) and 8 lbs beef combined, plus 3 cups of dry kidney beans per pot and some bell peppers from the garden

I make a few chili, hopefully with some gifted venison at least once a fall. Sometimes spring but less often. I have a standard one and then one where it's "what ingredients can I afford?" meaning a mix mushroom pack and grass fed beef/lamb 2:1 and real investments in the dish. Round about a $60 crock pot balancing nice and expensive with "why use it at all anyway?". And it's fun, it bangs for sure, but I kinda like my standard chili more, no frills with a little black coffee in there to support the meat richness versus tomato richness.
On the to-do list though is chili roasted inside a pumpkin, I had that in the Poconos on the north border but I can't remember the diner. God it was heaven.
