Is this good bud development for week 5 or 6 of flower?

I've posted pics before of the same plants but younger, about light burn or nutrient burn but now all my pheno plants are budding and I want to make sure I get a good yield. I have 6 plants.

I recently raised the light all the way and raised the dimmer from 50% to 60% because I was seeing a touch of light burn on the higher leaves. And I'm also noticing that the leaves are changing colors fast now that I'm on week 5 or 6 of flower. Is that okay?

They're hungry... But looking good too. Just up the feed a little. Which strain is this one, interesting colors. Oh wait... Your right .. just saw the video. That very well could be light burn on that tall plant. They're looking good. They won't look like buds until 7-8 weeks and then fill up fat 9-10 weeks. Some strains will finish faster sometimes...but... Always be prepared for 10+ weeks

I added a half tablespoon of Gaia green 2-8-4 and half of 4-4-4 to each pot to kind of top dress and give them a little boost the recommended feeding is 1 table spoon each per gallon and I have maybe 3 tablespoons all together in each pot

Mine arent far ahead of yours, perhaps a week or two, and the calyxes are swelling like a bitch right now! New pistils are standing to attention and the actual buds are forming fast, along with the honking stench and that ice we all love.

I give mine waysr every day with a teaspoon of powdered calmag and every third feed I give them 1ml per litre of PK 13/14.

Thats it. Nothing else.
On Saturday they'll be in the final week of flush and itl be straight water then for the last week.

Then, with 48 hours to go, ill turn the lights out for 48 hours and no water.
Apparently the stress forces the dying plant to surge its trikes, so they'll be even more frosty come axe day next Saturday.

First ever grow and im so excited I cant even describe it.

This forum has been priceless. Even if the homies haven't given me the exact answer I was searching for, theyve helped me to understand the processes which allows for some personal intuition.

Despite never growing before, it feels like plants are quite easy to read.
If theyre hot, theyll tell us.
If theyre thirsty, theyll tell us.
If they work a second job without paying tax they probably won't tell us, but for everything else there's Mastercard.

Yes but I don’t think you have.

When the get hungry & feed upon themselves it takes a bit to recover & can be hard to get them back to normal & some leaves won’t recover at all they will just go yellow & die off

It’s not a massive issue you have & it’s the buds your gonna smoke anyways

As you get closer to the end of harvest try dropping the amount of n.

I can see some purple going on as well witch is normal on some strains albeit you can force them to go purple with cold temps at night

are you in coir then ? Every days a coir schedule by what they posted its seems this is a soil grow witch watering frequency is different.

Yeah bud I can safely say the 48 dark doesn’t do much after years of growing & trying it myself

Be careful. If you're only "a week or two" ahead of op (and by looking at your pics),
I'm just guessing, but you are probably at least2-3 weeks out...
Now is the time to be patient!
Let them puppies really bulk up, There is always imo, way less there than you think. If you figure 85% for loss during drying, you'll never be disappointed (the books usually say 75-80%, I personally think that's a little low)
Even the densest looking buds can end up light and airy, when drying
It's during the last two weeks that they really pack on the weight, even if there's not a lot of noticeable growth
Some closer shots of your plant would be helpful

I'm curious; without reading back through, what was your unanswered question?

Also, I'm with gmix, blast em with their regular light schedule until harvest
I grow hydro w/ rockwool slabs. My feeder pumps run continuous while the lights are on, right up until I harvest them.
If you think about it, plants in DWC have their roots suspended in water, right up to and during harvest, with no ill affects.

Oh yes, ive done it 3 times now , and Im getting Fked off with it. i would say the last few weeks are the most 'dangerous' for want of a better word, because if there is any salt / nutrient build up , now is when it will go over that tipping point , especially if you do what i did and add a load of PK13/14 . Yours look fine though they will bulk up most in the last 2 weeks so i can see those buds joining up at the end

I am, mate, yes.

Being my first grow, I didnt appreciate the necessity of clean substrate, so I mixed compost with pebbles and coir, which presented a few issues during the grow, but im happy to report the plants overcame their struggles.

The cuttings are in coco coir/perlite and NOTHING else, and theyre growing much healthier. We live and learn i suppose.

From now on it'll be straight coco. Its brilliant stuff and once I got my head around the watering regimen, the plants have thrived.

Yes. As the plant reaches maturity it will begin to pull stored nutrients from the older fan leaves and they will begin to yellow and fall away from the bottom. I was always taught to defoliate the majority of the fan leaves save for the top 2-3 on each branch by week 5-6 of flower. Defoiliating them twice in flower, once at 2 weeks and again at 4 will not only give you better yields overall it significantly reduces mold and insects by eliminating micro-climates within the canopy.

Also that far into flower id be running the lights closer to 80-90%. More photosynthetically available radiation = more photosynthesis = more inflorescences.

That's good and it takes couple weeks for that to break down. You can speed it up mixing it with a little compost or earthworm castings to break that down faster. (Maybe a compost tea to get things going ) But you're on the right track.

I'm not sure exactly where I am with them, timewise, and I was going to choose them next weekend.



Since I made that decision, however, the REAL buds have started to form and swell making me rethink my plans.



These were taken about 2 days ago.



I cant really get close ups of the trichomes but there are quite a few milky ones (perhaps 50%,) a very light scattering of amber ones (about 10% roughly) and a couple of deep red ones, almost blood red.

The rest are clear.



Ive been giving them water only for a few days too now, trying to leach out all the minerals and stuff.

Anyway, these photos are of plant 1.

Whilst im here I might as well post some photos of the third plant.

They all got flipped at the same time but this plant, which is a white rhino, is taking longer to flower.

I think this one is going to be a monster.
