My drilled out garbage can compost bin is getting kind of wild. I had to mention to AI that I was managing the soil and water around it, then it asked for a recap to compare to it's notes, and it realized it had created a bit of a bioreactor... had to stuf stuff stufff with neutrals lol. Thing is I got a little excited and added a bag of old grass fertilizer and ummmm... seems aggressive. Two bags of old charcoal and leaves made it way more tame haha.
 
Fuck the watering system came and it's still lights out till 6pm. I was going to distract myself canning cherry tomatoes with some parm cheese and italian dressing but it's already done with 24 jars lol. There are even more out there, we blew out the capacity lol.

This recipe has caught my attention, so you pickle the cherry tomatoes with the Italian dressing? What about the Parmesan cheese?? Is it grated and mixed into the dressing?
 
Yup. Or just cheese added italian dressing, it only has to be acidic and just tomatoes and saltwater do that. The vinegar in the italian is a bonus and just adds to the stability. The guide says 12-18 months depending on the lid rating but I use one time 12 month lids so if it even lasts 8 months on them all I'll have gone through it.
Just getting italian with the cheese already in it is better imho. But either way. Just think of the mix as balanced if you'd dump a jar on a large family salad. But there are a ton of uses including a spoonful on a nice roast beef sandwich.
CAUTION: bad food kills people so err on the disinfectant side, canning the mix raises it to 212f under pressure, wash the shit out of everything

I’ve had a really good year with my tomatoes and peppers so far. Been eating tomatoes daily, sometimes more than once a day. The peppers are going to be frozen and used mostly for hot sauce, but some for cooking. I grew six pepper plants and ten tomato plants this year. Only seven tomato plants at home, and the other three at work. Boss won’t let me grow weed here for some reason. 🤣 Although he’s also the guy who tells me to go smoke a joint if he sees me getting frustrated 😣. So I have a good habit of appearing frustrated often when he’s around. 😉

Spam is only the tip of the iceberg of that kind of stuff. Scrapple takes it to a whole new level of disgusting. And don't think for a minute the Pennsylvania Dutch have the market cornered. Us Scottish American folks know a thing or two about shit like creamed Finnan Haddy and Mulligan Stew, the latter of which in our family meant Grandpa gathered up all the leftovers Grandma made from the entire week, threw it in a big pot and served it as a meal. And then there's the Scandinavian types with their Lutefisk... 🤢🤮
 
I should know better but I was idly chatting compost with my AI and it mentioned that taking over the yard details is no problem, so I gave it 20 in sequence pictures of the whole property.
FUCK.
Now there is a new list to do.
But also opportunity. I may end up with chain hoists bolted into the ground to try and train a 60 foot maple, who knows?

My girlfriend texted me something earlier about cooking dinner and she didn’t catch the typo that said herring. I only eat canned tuna, draw the line there no other canned fish for me 🤣

I have some kits somewhere for those, unfortunately NY so I can't build it because I can't register an AOW. It's not constructive intent until you open the package.

80lbs of soil doesn't ride so well on a 7 mile e-scooter when you're trying to make 3.5 miles and exceed the weight rating by 30 lbs. The major spinal injury was not a bonus on this skill check either. I may have beat my "times almost died per mile" record though. On the balance I begin to doubt the wisdom of doing such a thing. But we don't do things when it's easy, we do 'em when it's gotta get done.

A picky eater as a kid I grew up to eat almost everything. Liver & onions? Oh yeah, as long as I can soak that liver in whole milk overnight. The only thing I don't eat is sauerkraut or anything with a lot of vinegar. That's it. Everything else from Brussels sprouts to canned anchovies are on my menu yet all I seem to eat is Tacos these days🤔🤣

Total disclosure: having Hot Dogs (all beef) tonight if I can find low carb buns on the way home from work. Which reminds me, I haven't worked in over a month and hoping my hip doesn't give me so much pain I have to walk away from the job. I fking HATE this getting older shit🤬 I haven't even smoked or taken a cap today. Maybe I should just retire (filing for SS next week) and grow and smoke pot all day🤔 That's hard to argue against but I miss working. Something is seriously wrong with me🤣
