And I am working on a perpetual bean soup pot.
Gotta say making bean soup for 2 people is difficult. I use a spiral sliced ham bone and the attached ham for the base and go between white beans and 15 bean mix.
My trick is after cooking the beans take 20% out and put in blender to pulverize and re add the mix to give it that creamy bean soup feel.

I use a cottage ham for beans soup for two. I like your idea of blending some of the beans to thicken it.

Im doing my spagetti sauce....a corporate chef for a restraunt group in Pittsburgh taught me to roast my tomatoes, onion, garlic, peppers in oven till they get a little brown, 90 minutes at 400degrees, then run through a Sauce Maker....yhen on stove on low to cook down.

There use to be a restaurant called Bill Knapps way back in the day. Old fashioned made in the restaurant fare that had to compete with low cost places and changing tastes. They had the best bean soup and I flavor and feel the base like the Bill Knapps soup.
Can still get the cakes they made but have not seen anything else in 25 years.

Beans you say? LOVE bean soup but I really LOVE tacos and burritos so this is how I make pinto beans.

Onions & garlic cooked in bacon grease. Add fresh oregano, beans and water in a pressure cooker cook for 1 hour.

Fry a pound of bacon

and add beans to grease and smash.

I keep the liquid from the pressure cooker

and use some in the beans but it makes the best soup. Leave a half to one cup whole beans and mix in some of the refried to thicken❤️

It would have been nice for my parents to tell me their neighbors had chickens, because I snuck outside for a wake and bake this morning and thought it was an evil maniacal witch laughing at me. 🤣 Fkn dying over here fun wake and bake 🤣🤣

I agree....but...the wife don't like the smokey taste. So I meet her half way, I use ham if I have it. I save the bone and scraps from Christmas or Easter ham for bean soup. The flavor from the ham isn't as good as ham rocks though. Thanks for talking about this....it reminded me that I have a whole ham in freezer, bought after last Christmas....they had to many and instead of waste they marked it down.🤣
 
That shit reminds me of that show true detective season two. It wasn’t the best season of the show, but it took place in California and involved some secret society weirdo sex trafficking shit.
Yeah it’s crazy! That topic is far bigger and fucked than any person with their head in the sand about it could even imagine! Really really sad. I think it’s so big and deeply ingrained that we’ll never know the full extent of it. Makes you watch your kids REALLY REALLY close when out in public!
