I asked AI how to make smoking joints healthier. The answer was pretty good! It said that you will get about 90% of the THC in first 1/3 of the joint as the hot gasses release the THC further down the doobie. So, smoking the last 2/3 of a joint get you very little THC for lots of tar and other lung-unfriendly compounds.

And, it seems that a large amount of the THC is lost to "sidestream" smoke, and not inhaled at all.

For lowest impact on lungs, light joint, take 3 or 4 big, deep drags, and toss the rest.

Make sense?

Or you could toss em my way!

yeah, throwing away half a joint seems a bit mad.
Ai can be a bit much rem it’s scanning sites to give you information & not all them sites contain real life good information.

It maybe scientifically correct but in real life throwing away 1/2 a joint is the same as throwing away your weed

Exactly just seems like a waste.

I take one hitters out of a pipe. Clean fresh one each time. I prefer bubble though. I have been saving sugar leaves, should be able to do a hash run after this next crop. I'm so excited.

I'll tell ya what....I swear I get higher with 3 one hitters, over 3 puffs off a Scooby snack. But a joint tastes better.

True, the one hitters helps me ration out till next crop is cured. So win win fer me

i want to love the pipe but the heat is too much and first time i tried it i used a zippo and i hate its taste.....

We quit joints and pipes several years ago. Now, we vape or use our home-made tinctures. My wife was coughing so much we had to do something different. Now she isn't having any problems, and she does more than I do. Of the two, I think tinctures or other edibles are probably the healthiest. The dose isn't as easy to control with ingested methods, though.

We did some thinking about that recently. I noticed we could get high many more times from tincture than vaping. We use 8 grams in our tincture recipe and can get high 60 to 120 times from a single batch.* Using a vaporizer, on the other hand, I can get high maybe 16 times if I do half a gram at a time. (I usually don't use that much at time, however.)

So, we were wondering why there was such a big difference in how many times we could get high. We thought of two possibilities. One was the decarboxylation and infusion processes might be more efficient. The other was there isn't any loss via exhalation as there is with vaping.

* We make 2 ounces of tincture per batch using 8 grams of bud. There are 29.5735 milliliters per ounce--call it 30. So, at 1 ml per dose, a person can get high ~60 times. A 1 ml dose is too much for me, however, so I usually use 1/2 ml doses. My wife can do 1 to 1 1/2 ml doses. Potency varies, though, so these numbers are as near to a good estimate that we have.

First time I made edibles, I figured I could smoke 1 gram. So, 28 grams melted in butter made into no-bake cookies and divided into 28 cookies. Holy crap! Waaaay too high. When I did the math, 28 grams at 20% THC makes about 350 10mg doses, lol.

If I hadn't used a recipe, it's likely I would have done something similar. I'm still amazed at how potent the tincture is. It's a good way to stretch 8 grams, or have a party.

dry herb vape might be an idea as someone mentioned. not sure that vs a one hitter for lung health. tried them both and prefer a dhv but do sometimes miss rolling one up...
