anyone making their own hash with trimmings?

what’s up everyone, saw the thread and thought I’d share what I’ve learned.
So I’ve been making some bubble hash for a few weeks now with both flower and trim and have learned quite a bit.

I can’t go over all the details, it’s a lot lol
But basically freeze bud or trim, must be good to get good results,
Pour into micron sizes from smallest at the bottom to largest at the top, with ice and water, enough to cover material.
Agitate by hand for 20 minutes and gather material from screens.
Set the collected material on a 25 mesh screen over parchment paper, the thinner the better.

I don’t have a freeze dryer , which would probably be best, but eventually lol
Anyways
do like 2-3 runs and you will get some trichomes every time lol
Set each micron bag with its own little group, this makes a big difference when dabbing or vaping later..
(TRUST ME, do it right the first time, don’t say Fuck it… lol)
Let dry in a cool place with low humidity for about 5 days , and you now have hash you can smoke
If you wanna get fancier with it or store longer then
Grab dried hash, put between parchment paper press with heat at about 150 ‘F with a flat iron or hair straightener for about 10-20 second , flipping in between
Let it get cold
Then open and form into little balls or coins, or blocks
(This is great for hookahs or sprinkling onto a bowl)

The best way would be I think to use a rosin press, for even heat and pressure wrapped inside a 25 micron bag, pressed at 180 ‘ F for idk how much pressure lol

But here’s a little process of my first run . It has since got SO MUCH better I just haven’t been documenting lol

Fwiw I mix the trim/bud outside of the work bag then filter it, I put the ice, water and trim into a bucket put the lid on and shake it, you can get a good sloshing rhythm going, then empty that into the work back and dunk it into a fresh bucket of water, if I had more to do I'd filter everything with the 150/200 micron then grade it...I can't remember the work bag size?

If you prefer to mix inside the work bag to prevent damage you can use another identical bucket with the bottom cut out so it sits inside over the wall.

To gather the catch use a spray bottle or/and a fair sized syringe, after you've got it all gathered into a pile sit the bag/catch onto a kitchen roll, you'll see the water getting pulled from it, give it a minute or two it's firm enough that you can pick it up in 1 piece in your hand if you're gentle!

I put the lump onto a silicone bowl and went over it with a mini spatula breaking up the lump I done that ever half hour or so, I found if left it longer it could get hard enough that it could fly out when crushing the lumpy bits.

I dry sift my trimmings .. got like 10 grams of kief like powder , was surprised . Decarbed it made these things like reminded me of Tootsie rolls . Like a hash ball of sorts . Tossed pieces of them in some butter, made some lollipops was strong 🤣, rolled out a few snakes , put in my joints . Infused it with mct oil made a tincture .

u sir are a legend!!! this is the type of shit i needed. looks awesome. with the final texture of the hash does it get firmer over time or is the texture pretty much set after you press it? ima try this out

Just fine . Really perked up my shake that I had left at the end . My bottom bag stuff . Was really clean . Would have been cool if I had some sort of pen vape to try it in. Or a hot nail situation.

Like to the point I'm probably gonna do that with most of one whole plant I have this year. Was a good way to extend shelf life for me when the bud falls apart . Cause storage for me is hard . It's humid here .

I got way more than in that photo did it several times ... Put it in freezer first ..then Sifted . Got like a whole big prescription bottle full.


It is just slightly cleaner than what or equal to what you get in the bottom of the screened grinder . But tons and tons more . I usef a screen I got at Joanns for silk screen , was like 18 bucks . For the one

Thank you G , been doing a lot of research and trial and error lolol glad I could help,
The final texture which are the balls, right now hold very well and maintain the same texture as when rolled , haven’t got much firmer yet, maybe a little.
Yes, definitely try it out, for sure end product put in some micron and press between parchment and get that super clean melt dab type wax material 🤩🤩

Works as good as frenchy canoli method I have done it with the first run of qwiso hash

I used water hash bags but just like put them in a 5gallon with no water and the lid and shook for a while and got nice results pressed it into temple balls and smoked it up fast as hell
