I don’t know if you mean vermiculite
However root rot can present a lot of problems ( I noticed your near water witch does bring me back to fungi or bugs ) I don’t think it’s root rot due to the spotting the white spots and the black )

Wait till later in the day when someone with more experience in that area gets on

@HerbalEdu

I’m not gonna post anything else as I can’t help no more

Do wish you luck sorting it out

I tried ai they said bugs or fungal but ai is only a secondly tool

I would guess a hopper of some kind! You have big ones back there! Mine are tiny! If that’s what they are!😁

Well, it was about 1,2cm, maybe the photo doesn't show perspective well, or you have even smaller?

Probably 1/16 of an inch max! They just nick up the leaves! But they can vector diseases! I don’t worry about hoppers!

Supposedly 12,000 different species of hoppers! Lol! Maybe the big ones cause more damage! But there’s usually plenty of leaves to go around!

Everyday somethign new happens, wtf! Today i saw a branch with all its fan leaf droopy af and the whole look seemed like the branch broke and its dying or something, so i check tha base of the branch, and its not broken, instead there is some black mold-type growth???????? Heeeeeelp!!!Are the buds infected????Do i need to wash????😨

If it looks like the branch is dying, I would chop it off! Hopefully it doesn’t become more widespread! Good chance, the bud isn’t messed up! But you’ll have to deal with that on an individual basis!

This is what I would do. No point risking it spreading further, even if we don't know exactly what it is yet. The buds do look fine, from what I can see. I'd trim them down to individual nugs because even during your hang dry if it is fungal, bacterial, virus, or whatever, it can still spread. Try to leave some of the small stem attached to each nug so you can still do a snap test. At the very least you end up with a bit of bud you can taste test earlier than the rest.

If you want to be extra safe, or suspect the buds to be affected after closer inspection, you can always try out water curing.

That looks like rot I’d imagine If it’s in the stem it’s probably everywhere ( you can see more rot ( mold ) further up the branch )
Even the bottom flower looks bad

I’m sure you posted a pic where the stem was white but I can’t find it

A bit like the main stem

I’m not sure I wouldn’t cull it well I would if I had others others may persevere mind but imo it’s to far gone for the buds not to be infected

Thank you so much, i wiill chop it first thing in the morning....how can i be sure the infection hasn't gone into the buds??? Would just it be enough to just split them open and look?

Do you think if ii split open the buds and look, i can be shure wether the buds are infected as well? Thanks for your help!

i'll try to find the piic wiith the whitiish stem, isi there any way to tell for shure if the buds are infected as well? Is iti too risky to vape at this point? Thanks for your help!!

Could too much verm in the soil cause these symptoms? (slightly waterlogged soil?)
Use of Vermiculite in grow journals is very limited. In soil even more so. Vermiculite holds onto water and we want cannabis to have a dry cycle unless in an inert medium like coco.
If much vermiculite was put into the soil I doubt very much any input will help.
I am curious if you are following advise on the use or decided that it's a good idea.
Also did you read the bag? Vermiculite has some stringent personal protection equipment needs.

I decided to go ahead with its use because i am located in a subtropical mediteranean climate zone with extremely hot and dry summers so i thought (and i thing i got some advice from a paper i read) that it could help but i think i overdid it slightly on the amount i used, i was aware of the protection required while handling. Given we are now out of the extreme dry heat period, would it be wise to stop watering all together now in case i can halt any further waterlog damage? i am just 2 weeks away from the finishing line anyway.....would it be safe to suggest as to how far the infection has progressed if i split open the stem and see if it is black in the inside? Thanks for your help!

The black stem and buds are showing signs of fungal or mold. The one bud looks like a dead spider.
Cull the rot until it is all gone on the plants you want to save. Once you get to a stem that is not infected looking take off ( sacrifice ) a lower bud on the stem and open it up and look. Continue till there is no more. Trash everything you have to cull. It sucks but do not let it lie around tempting you to " just a little vape " or let's see how bad it could be.
Cause it could be real bad.

Thank you!!!😭
The difficult part is distinguishing whether it is Fusarium or Botrytis. Fusarium is systemic and could be in all parts of the plant! It enters through the roots and spreads throughout the plant! Botrytis in general, starts on the outside of the plant and eat its way in! More like a regular mold! If you get a chance, take a close-up of the base of the stalk!

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttt!!! I will snap some macros first thing in the morning!! Is there a chance we can identiify it with good photos???
