An Open Letter to the Learned Gentlemen of the Cannabis Persuasion, Hemp Specie Growists, and the Local Schizophrenics


Esteemed Colleagues, Curious Cultivators, and Lunatics Alike,


It has come to my attention—through rumor, tavern-side disputation, and the occasional tattered pamphlet—that the question has arisen: how little media may the noble hemp be compelled to endure, whilst yet producing her verdant crown of leaves and the resinous reward of her flowering state?


Some maintain that nothing short of a barrel-sized pot will suffice; others boast of saucers, teacups, or even hollowed turnips serving as adequate domiciles for the roots. A particularly excitable fellow in Syracuse swears to me that a mere limp of soil upon a wooden tray was sufficient to yield him a smokeable sample—though he admitted the plant expired in the attempt and resembled more a drowned rat than a botanical triumph.


I pose therefore, in the spirit of inquiry befitting our age of steam, galvanism, and unwholesome enthusiasms:


  • Can hemp be sustained in so meager a vessel as the palm of the hand?
  • Would the merest handful of rock-wool, kept moist by one’s spittle, compel her to grow, if only out of stubbornness?
  • Is there an ultimate, Platonic minimum—the absolute lower limit of pot and soil—before one courts madness or botany’s revenge?

I entreat you, gentlemen (and whosoever else finds themselves in possession of both a plant and poor judgment), to share your findings, whether by correspondence, word of mouth, or lunatic rantings carved into fence-posts. Only through collective folly shall true knowledge be advanced.

Howdy farmers!

Yesterday I thought my grow was ruined. Plants stretched too much and the Strawberry Cough looked like a fucking sweetcorn plant (praying). Then I used a thread to attach the bitch to the tent pole. Now it seems halfway ok again:

Yup the tallest ones will get taco leaves on top for sure - that reminds me, I didn't have a taco in ages... 😱

I had that issue, I put like 90 degree bends in the tops the out to the tent corners, tied again with wire. If problem persists we are going 90 degrees right turn.

I had this once before with Ice Cream Haze. Wanted to use my scrog net to tame it, bent it down and it was already growing back in the same direction one day later. Fucking useless scrog is only good to hang up plants to dry - actually I'm just too stupid to use it correctly 😩

Yeah one two days... but that takes inches off the top without losing anything. It's not like you can't rearrange and tie again.

Yeah, it was just that the 90 degree angle it did after a short time discouraged me, so I just tied it to the pole instead. It turned out good in the end. Also my net has this black Chinese texture on it, with the trademark cancer inducing fumes... probably not good to let it touch the flowers. 🦨

Everything China makes is made by every two bit SEA republic. Also it's shit and better to not have leaking vapors in your house, which by the way is not some accident of laziness. China's grand plan is to ship us toxic shit and see what happens; fentanyl, lead paint, fuck it whatever. It's bad, ship it to Burgerland.
I can promise you that if tomorrow all trade with China was illegal instantly, it would be shitty for around 3 days, like when they tried the great soy embargo. Then we'd get over it and they would (continue to) starve. Hell we could embargo them and not one single non-russian country would squeek, and they are defenseless against it.
It's a good thing I'm not in charge probably.

As disappointing as that rollback movement in Mass or NH or wherever that is happening. We pay a lot of tax, the dispensary windfall is real. They simply waste the money because we elect them again.
