Hey guys,

Do you go based on Trichomes color or both trichomes and pistils or do you stick to a scheduled days from veg to harvest schedule? I have 2 plants both healthy but 1 has white pistils, no amber heads yet. The 2nd plant has skinny buds, pistils are more red and no amber trichomes. I am thinking a couple more weeks even 3 for the skinny bud plant. Weather is chilling so I figure I cant wait too much longer

You're still a few weeks away minimum. Your buds look like they're in mid flower. Can you take magnified trichome pictures? That would give us the best indication of how close they are. Despite chilling weather, you still have a few weeks to go.

Do you have a jewelers loupe? Thats what i use to check trichomes. It takes using it for a little while to get the hang of it. But they are a very valuable tool to have (not expensive to get) ✌️

I need to figure out how to take pics with the loupe but def 2-3 more weeks

On almost all calyxs being swollen and the pistils brown and receded back into the calyxs.

For pics i use a usb microscope from amazon cost me 39$ i think.

I use a mixture of the pistols, the colour trics, shape of stalks, and swelling of tje buds.

I find you cant rely on just one way of telling unless your familiar with the strain.
I try to never grow the same strain twice ina row. What can i say i like variety and get bored easily.

I dont look for percentages of brownjng hairs i look at how much new growth of the hairs, assuming your tech is decent new growth hairs should slow down so that browning happens faster then new growth.

Watch trics for ambering my preference generally is 8-13% amber.

The stalks of trics need to be bending over.

The clyaxs need to look almost like theve been pollinated.

The sugar leaves in the buds need to show its near the end and turning colour.

I try to look for 4 of the 5. Plus it really depends on when i have the time to harvest also

Good stuff man thank you, i got a microacope but maybe I dont know how to use it. I am going to try again

I wait for my pistols to change then I start looking at the trichomes and look at the flower not the sugar leafs for amber coloring I personally pull when very little amber mostly milky white
