Well data trumps anecdotes but it is a cue for producing or death. We adjust light cycles to the sun after all. Follows that anything else is Zen.

Im going to do it next season. On one plant. Ill dump bags of ice on the top of the soil around mid September : )

I’ve got the same problem with my Lazy Lightning that I pollinated, it’s sooo sticky. Are there any tricks to get the seeds out without ruining all the trichomes??

The only trick I know is the "Led Zeppelin IV" method. 😂

Hang dry normally. Throw on some nitrile gloves and break the buds all up, squeezing any seeds out. When you're done, tilt your surface at a slight angle and the seeds will roll away and the buds will stay put.

The only problem is sticky seeds don't roll very well. First world problems, right? 😂

use latex gloves and make finger hash. Throw the gunked up gloves inside out in a paper bag for a week. Turn them back right side out and just stretch and snap the finger tips and big dried globs will come off. Do this over pxrex or glass, wax paper etc. Once it builds up, roll it into a ball...😁👊🐙
Thanks for the info, will bookmark this post and hopefully remember two weeks from now.

I got you...

What's the myth's timeline (not to mock it but no data I know of), is it like 2 days before harvest or two weeks?
its all good dude! : ) we call it “bro science” around here LOL! I have no clue on the time frame, I’ve just heard about growers doing it up here. I watched a guy do it to one of his plants… only reason he did is because we were talking about it and he had an ice chest left over from a river day or something hahah! I dont even remember if it did anything✌️

@Captspaulding drills like an 1/8" hole thru the base of the trunk with a cordless drill 😆👊🤡

I did one just yesterday for a plant I'm harvesting on Saturday. The goal and theory behind it is to restrict the stem flow a few days before harvest to get a final push of resin production as the plant responds to the stress. I haven't ever done it before, I'll let yall know if I notice a difference.

I used a box cutter to start a split, ran a punch through it to open it up, then stuck a miniature wooden clothing pin in there to keep it from closing back up. The zip ties are used to contain the split to that area.

I'ma need to go sit in the tree and get high about that again... but if it works that is fascinating. The extra production then is a physical protection for calcyx (sp)? MAybe if the plant falls over that attracts dirt and dust to try to seed in?

Missed my dry window for taking more plants down this morning🤣 ill be headed out there in little to continue on the cut down in the rain : )

did a three bucket wash yesterday for the first two plants, happy with the results of caterpillar shit and other bugs totally getting washed off! Bucket 1. h2o2( 3%@ 1 cup per 5 gal of water) bucket 2. water and bucket 3. water
I checked them this morning and they felt good, like normal fresh cut herb on its second day of hanging. I have the dehu running along with a fan on high.✌️

I'm harvesting a Gelato next week. I was thinking I might pinch the stalk with vice grips and call it the Jed Clampett Method... Hay if we aren't screwing around trying stupid shit all the time, we will never make new discoveries!
dude thats awesome! 🤣 yeah mothers are necessary for invention or something like that… snacks?

seriously though dude… R&D is very legit! and sometimes that shit is wonky as hell! 🤣 ✌️

I did a 24 hour period of darkness in a cold climate with ice on the soil about three maybe four years ago with a plant. But I only had the one plant and had no other plants to compare with so it was kinda pointless. Without a baseline for comparison I couldn’t tell if it did anything different.

And that’s why I hate pre rolls! Look at the fan leaves, stems and shit going into that machine. 😳
Sir that's "cannabis matter".
But yes as I've mentioned we have a notorious pre-roll company that should be driven out of the market but their cheapshit ounces always save their rep (they know it too) with NY. I haven't loved many pre-rolls I only usually buy ounces of flower and even then budget tier.
I'll give it to this Watermelon/Runtz/something cross (linked a few posts ago). It gets better in a bong for sure it has a mature taste to it. I would really be interested in any gelato cross or cherry cross with it.
