I’m in Northern MI, and it’s supposed to freeze tonight—down to 32°F. My plants are in pots. What should I do or not do? I did put leaves at the base. Your help and suggestions are kindly appreciated.

You've probably already thought of it, but if you could erect a tent, or canopy over top it would help. Anything to keep a little warmth around the plant.

no I di not. Only think I have is plastic, a 5' tall fence and 6' tall plants. i don't have a tent or canopy.

I'm not sure plastic will help, since you're trying to retain heat and it won't do that. I will tell you mine have survived heavy frost, but it warmed up in the morning. It might look bad at first but if the temps rebound it will recover.

i'd be more worried about the roots myself. can you use old blankets, sheets or anything to wrap the pots up to retain any heat?
just my thinking anyways

Depends on how long the temp is going to be 32 or lower! Maybe you will slide!
