Ooohhhh alrighty then! I'll be checking that! So much to learn, I'm trying to stay positive. Looking forward to next year, already ;-)Caterpillars can cause that rot also! So keep your eyes open when you are digging through it! They seem to like to crawl up to the tip of the bud, and then rearback and burrow in! L O L! Good luck with it!
O My hahaha! That picture is loud & clear in my mind now LOLI’ve been trimming weed on the coffee table, not really paying much attention and then come across two halves of a caterpillar squirming around! That’s what gives you your regional flavor! You’ll do all right!![]()
Pulled the wool over the eyes of another one! ha ha! Just be gentle when you’re shaking! Don’t want to break their little necks! sometimes Amber can take a long time to show up! So you might have to settle for cloudy if the weather conditions are lousy!Yesterday...10-14-25
It had rained about 3am. I went out to CK my 2 sativa's & thankful for all the posts elsewhere...I shook the stems & wow the water that came off was astounding haha!
Grateful for any rain in this desertOur average rain fall is 10" yearly...

Just cause you plant them earlier, doesn’t mean that they will finish any earlier! The hours of light and dark tell them when to flower! And if you put them out on 420 without supplemental lighting, you may be headed for problems! Well, enjoy the ones you have going! Take them as far as you can! You’re doing good!Yes.. Haha..I will be carefulI can't help but dance in the rain haha I'm rough & ready.. Why it took a cowboy to tame this heifer haha
Oh okay... Since you told me, the sativa could take a very long time.. I'll try to not get too disappointed if no amber shows. Boo hoo.
Next year I'll plant those seeds sooner than 4/20.![]()
Ohhhhh Whaaaaat... I'm totally blown away! Lol. Okay.. Deep breath..haJust cause you plant them earlier, doesn’t mean that they will finish any earlier! I’ll get back to you on this subject!Ohhhhh Whaaaaat... I'm totally blown away! Lol. Okay.. Deep breath..ha
You mean I'd have to put lights outside?
Gawd I feel stupid right about now.
Ok maybe your meaning I should start seeds indoors w supplemental lighting?
I'm missing something here :P
Thanks for cheering me on
My hubby's already pissed I got bud rot haha
I repotted 2-3 times to go bigger pots, think it helped, no problems in Ohio weather...was dry, but watered daily and fed weekly in large pots on the deck all summer. Just harvested 2 of 3 plants. Opened up the rootball and in a large pot, roots throughought full pot with many larger around tap root in a softball circumference.First time I’ve seen it! Sativa’s are delicate anyway! But I think your pots are way too small! It’s hard to control the root zone in pot that small! Things get thrown off way too easy! Just two cents!
Is that why I got 6-8 small catepillars of my 2 harvested plants? From the rain? I dont spray anything, try using feeds with nutrients and homemade compost.Hello from another lady grower, i'm in Oregon. That Chucky is very helpful especially with the sativa info. I don't grow those strains any longer that have mostly sativa genes cause it takes me about a month into early Nov. to ripen them. I grow more indica dominant strains and even those will likely be harvested a week or two earlier than what i prefer. All do to weather. Rain came abit early here for me so i had to and catipillars were killin me again. I did'nt spray enough after rains and they hatched. Anyhoo, i love the high deserts here in Oregon i love the drier climate in winter.
I start my plants in March and use a tent with LED for about 2 or so months then get them bigger and place outside in early June or so. As long as you have direct sunlight for over 13hrs your fine. Even a sunny window sill would be good to use. Good luck with your harvests, and remember you can take the ripest tops off and leave the rest to mature further.![]()

Sweet! I'll be using 10 gal grow bags next year. I'm scared haha... Graduating up from 5gal pots ...I repotted 2-3 times to go bigger pots, think it helped, no problems in Ohio weather...was dry, but watered daily and fed weekly in large pots on the deck all summer. I can't imagine not having to spray. I skipped spraying 2wks in a row & picked off 11 green horned worms off my tomatoes. Them caterpillar butterflies must of laid eggs on your cannabis leavesIs that why I got 6-8 small catepillars of my 2 harvested plants? From the rain? Mine came to life after the rain cause i did'nt re-spray soon enough. And i quit spraying at about 6wks into flower. I'll stay on top of it better next summer.I can't imagine not having to spray. :( I don't know if it has to do with rain tho.![]()
